Abstract

If you're looking for non-stop action, killer graphics, and a few laughs, MDK2 ARMAGEDDON is the game for you. Throughout the course of this excitement-packed romp, you play as three different characters: Kurt, the coil-suit powered janitor; Dr. Hawkins, the eccentric inventor; and Max, the gun-wielding, six-limbed robotic dog. Your goal is simple: aliens are threatening to destroy Earth, and your characters are the planet's last hope. All of the off-kilter humor and action from the Dreamcast version are still here, but the graphics and gameplay have been elevated to the next level!

ESRB rating

Animated Blood, Animated Violence

Full description

Like it's predecessors, MDK2: Armageddon is an action-packed third-person shooter with an off-beat sense of humor. Players will take on the roles of former janitor Kurt Havoc, the many-limbed canine cyborg Max, and the dangerously brilliant Doctor Hawkins in different stages of the adventure. The game features several tricky puzzles in addition to many alien bad guys in need of fragging.

While MDK2: Armageddon is also a sequel to the successfully quirky original MDK, it is not a direct port of the Dreamcast or PC sequel versions of MDK2 released earlier the same year. The PlayStation 2's MDK2 features all of the levels and weapons available in other versions of the sequel, plus new items and areas available only in this "Armageddon" version.

BioWare's hit game, MDK, has a sequel. MDK2 Armageddon gives the players 10 levels, over 20 types of enemies, three playable characters with unique levels and items for each, and deep story. You can play as Kurt Hectic, Doctor Fluke Hawkins and Max - a six-legged dog - and all three characters have different styles of play. Expect humor and wackiness as well as amazing graphics and gameplay. Sit back and get ready for an explosive, action-packed sequel headed towards the PlayStation 2.

Editorial review

MDK2: Armageddon builds on the popular gameplay of the original MDK. This version features a new 3-D engine, enhanced graphics, new gadgets, and more humor. The game takes place in third-person perspective, and has three controllable characters: Kurt Hectic; dangerously brilliant Dr. Fluke Hawkins; and six-legged, jetpack-carrying robotic dog Max. The 10 environments include Dr. Hawkins's Subspace Art Gallery and the surface of an asteroid that's spinning through space. There also are adjustable difficulty settings, numerous control options, in-game hints, and dual-analog control support.
