At time of writing, I am in my first year at McMaster University, and intend to join the Software Engineering & Game Design program. I'm an advocate for video games as an art medium, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate backstabbing my opponents in Modern Warfare 2 every now and then. Actually, that's a bad example. I can't stand competitive MW2.

Computer programming. In terms of languages, I know lots of C#, Java, Visual Basic, and Ruby, and a little C and C++. In terms of algorithms and such, I know most sorting algorithms, intermediate data structures, and - drum roll please - regular expressions. I probably won't be able to help you with your ambitious OpenGL-powered 3D indie game, but I'll almost certainly be able to help with your CompSci homework.

I don't do favorites, but off the top of my head, I'm a big fan of most of Valve's games, especially Portal. Generally, I'm disposed against competitive multiplayer gameplay, preferring single-player and co-operative multiplayer. Borderlands is my 2009 GOTY. There are only a few specific genres that I won't play, including real-time strategy and sports.

It's a minefield. Whatever patterns may emerge change with the academic terms. I've had to update this space so frequently that I've just decided to stop updating it at all. If you want to know badly enough, just ask.
