The story behind the idea
The founder of 'Goozex', Jonathan Dugan, is an avid video gamer who had been searching for several years for a method to better use the equity he possessed in his video game collection.
After years of trading-in his video games to local stores in exchange for slim amounts of credit towards other games, he set out to devise a plan to counter this market inefficiency in the video game industry.
After meeting Co-Founder Valerio Zanini, the two set out to develop an innovative online platform that would facilitate online trading of video games across different geographical and social groups, at an affordable price.
In July of 2006, the two of them launched Goozex, Inc. to revolutionize the way used video games are bought and sold. By allowing gamers to buy and sell used games quickly, easily and at an affordable price, Goozex will fill a clear need in the video game industry that gouges gamers with the costs of new and used games.
The service is unique because of the internal Goozex currency, which allows users to fully leverage the equity in their video games by trading their games for Goozex points, not for money. The service has a standardized system so that the trades may be fair, and not priced according to the user.
The Goozex Team hopes you enjoy the service and have fun trading!
