Glad this tidbit was helpful for a lot of people.....I take checks, money orders, and of course, cash.
I saw the commercial for the deal myself...but 8am? I'm going to really have to decide if I need one of these things.
Too lazy to read the FAQ? Asking that burning question anyways?! Dont! Instead, use this Portable FAQ to your advantage!
it's a limited supply deal, so not many will get it, only 10 req at each store.
Just wanted to point out it's an eGift card, meaning it can only be used online, not in stores...so you probably wouldn't be buying groceries with it. haha Still, this seems like a great deal, I may get one as a back up/replacement for the inevitable failure of one of my current 360's.
edit: Here's the actual Walmart link

Bah, that blows. I'm not going to camp out for one of these things, so probably no dice.

Neither of these responses are surprising.

I'm willing to spend $200 on a potential brick, but I don't know if I'm willing to wake up early on my day off for one.
I'm assuming there's no online ordering of this deal? That would be ideal.
Kenny, are you married? If so, tell the wifey to pick it up in exchange for the $100 eGift card. Win / Win situation.

he's too busy sexually harrassing her at work
Those hugs will get you in trouble every day of the week...

I'm willing to go at both midnight and at 8 AM and test my luck. But we've all seen the youtube videos of the way these things work. There will be a line of people at 4 AM outside of every Walmart of people waiting to trample each other to get to the Xbox section. And only 3 of the people actually get one, the rest trampled over some pregnant lady, who for whatever reason thought it was a good idea to wait in 6" of snow in her third trimester to save money on a TV, only to walk out empty handed.
I'm willing to show up at 7:30. I'm not camping a store to save $100.
Pretty amusing that the Xbox fanboys need to suggest this is about some hatred for the machine and not the fact that it's simply not worth it to go through that effort to save $100. Or maybe even not save $100 and be pissed off because that's the way they work these things.
Indeed. I was looking at a few other deals 'Just in case' and a refurb with a 20gb hd, HDMI, two controllers, a headset, some cable, and 3 games was also going for $199. Has a year warranty too. I wonder if that's even more worthwhile?
It is a refurb of a unit that has hardware problems to begin with, so I was a little leery.

Your history of hatred tends to push opinions that way. ;)

I've stated several times before I've considered buying one. I'm just not looking to pay a lot for one and am waiting for the right deal because quite frankly there's only about 2 games I'm really looking to play on it. Mass Effect and Fable 2.
And I did seriously consider the system when I made my first console purchase of this generation. But like Kenny I found that with Wifi NICs, Xbox Live Service, and everyhing else that it was actually cheaper for me to get the "insanely priced" $500 PS3. Throw in the fact that it did Blu Rays and my thought process was that it gave more bang for the buck and while it was inferior for games at that time, it would be a better purchase if the system was even close to as good at games long term. Especially since I have 2 kids and don't have the time to game like some of you do. And I knew it was inferior for games at the time, I got it maybe a week or so after the whole 30 FPS Madden 08 deal which Xbox fanboys were of course especially harsh over. Like many of the other early PS3 adopters, I had to listen to you fanboys talk about how it would be discontinued, calling it the Dreamcast and whatnot, would never have dev support, making a mountain out of every slight misstep Sony made. So I've been very happy to give some of that back to you guys as the PS3 caught up and IMO has now surpassed the Xbox as a single player gaming machine, what I use it for.
Xbox fanboys kind of remind me of how the Democrats are today. For years they've villified Bush as the devil and made a mockery of the office. Now that it's being given back in similar fashion, they get upset at this unfairly harsh criticism. Well, they kind of asked for it...
