Because the economics of processing a $1 transaction are lousy. Some stores still require a $10 minimum to use a credit card because of the associated fees.

That is true for the 'cost of money' fees, but not the administration costs of doing the transactions. Having been through these calculations helping the finance folks at my old job I discovered that a vendor change would require cost savings of tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars per year to justify the switch.
The same reason hot dogs come in packages of 6(at least the good Nathans or Hebrew National ones), but hot dog rolls come in packages of 8.
I am kinda confused but i guess i won't be buying myself any points. Im just going to have to try to advertise this site and hope i can get a trade point that way.

OK, so you don't want to be a part of Goozex. That is fine. The explanations given make sense and are reasonable. You have been around and have sent and recieved a game, so you know it works. Assuming you like games, if you get a few more points you could round out some more obscure rare PC games for your Wii collection.
