Because of all the threads I see on a daily basis asking questions that have been answered 100 times over I am asking all of you, the Goozex community, if you would support me in creating my own comprehensive FAQ. I know there is already one, but it doesn't seem as comprehensive as it could be.
When I say "would you support me", I mean would you help me find all those really important and helpful threads I can reference and/or link to and would you help me try to get it stickied if it turns out the way I hope it does?
At first I'll take a few days to figure out what subjects I need to cover and how I can make it as understandable as possible, I would also love any suggestions you guys can give me.
Being fairly new here, it would help a lot if I can get some replies with what the most frequently asked questions are so I can add as much to the FAQ as I can possibly think of.
If I'm stepping on anyones toes here I apologize, I just want to give back to the community and make it better.
Please don't make a 'new' FAQ ... figure out how to improve the old one. To me the way to do that is to write down the questions you think are missing and find the threads that answer them.

Well, the reason I wanted to do a 'new' FAQ was so I could do the layout a bit differentely. I think the majority of people that ask questions that are already answered are just too lazy to click the links inside the thread. Or it may just take a simple thread name change to something like "Read this before asking questions" or something similar. The best way to do it I think would be to have an index and then links to all the chapters within the thread. Right now it just links to a bunch of other threads, which is fine but perhaps not as effective, not that the way I just suggested is much different.
As it stands now it's obvious the FAQ just isn't very effective in its current form or we would have less people asking the same questions, or perhaps they're just too stupid to read first.
I'll see what I think needs to be added or changed to the current FAQ for now, but I think the mods here should at least look in to the possibility of replacing the current FAQ, please don't take this as me telling you how to do your job, I know you know what's best.

I'll go with this option. From the second you join the forums, you are bombarded with links to the FAQ and How It Works. If people don't want to read those, then they have to accept the dogging of them in their threads.

I just realized there may have been a slight misunderstanding, I meant have a FAQ right here in the forums, not just a link to the main one in a thread. It's not my intention to change the FAQ on the main website.

Yes, and I think we all agree with that - and place the blame squarely on users rather than the FAQ. Honestly I think we could all agree that both the main 'how does it work' and the forum-located FAQ's could be improved.
But it goes back to that saying that progress is the race of making things more idiot proof against the universe making bigger idiots ... and that so far the universe is winning.
Hey, I love your energy and determination BrandonB. I think we all understand your desire to get these basic questions answered that we get bombarded with every day, as it is quite painful to endure... May the force be with you in your efforts of resolution.
