I'll give it a bit of time before I decide to bite on this one. I think it'll all depend on how well the features are integrated.
The only GBA games I own anymore are also SNES games, so I'm not too worried about trading them away.
I think it is a bold step, and I applaud them. Seeing the GBA slot go is no biggie for me - with the Phat I played more GBA than DS games for the first year, then slowly more and more great DS games came along. Since getting the DS Lite I have barely touched the GBA slot.

Their storage solution is awful and likely to have some kind of annoying DRM associated with it
The new DS is interesting, aside from that, there's nothing really special
Glad to see Nintendo finally shoring up the weak points of the Wii, and adding some features to the DS. Nothing that personally interested me, but it's still good to see.

Of course there'll be DRM! You can't just get a game and give copies to all your friends! I'm just happy I don'y have to check if I can re-download, clear space, check if I can re-download, clear space, and the redownload.

I have way to many SD cards, so I don't mind.

allowing external HD use through the USB made more sense.

Exactly, but that would be too smart
FACT!

I believe you meant, "You shouldn't just get a game and give copies to all your friends!" The Wii is the most easily hacked piece of home hardware this generation.

Is the Wii USB a full-spec USB2 port? I also wonder about power management and sleep-mode issues. Flash memory is no worry for any of this, whereas the Wii hardware might not have been designed to deal with this stuff.
At least they want you to use SD media, which is cheap and plentiful. Unlike Sony.
