Can anyone give me a straight forward answer to this?
Is GTA4 worth getting or not? I also want to know the same for Battle Fantasia.
GTAIV is good, but not as good as all the reviews say. I'd pick it up off goozex when it hits 700 points or less. As for Battle Fantasia, I played the japanese demo, and its not a bad game, but don't expect anything extraordinary out of it.
I recommend GTA4. The multiplayer is terrible but the story is what did it for me. It was like watching a movie. Great voice actors, characters who you actually feel a connection to and so many plot twists that it might just be an M. Night Shyamalan project.

ok thanks
I think GTA IV is a good example of how reviewers get caught up in hype just as bad as anyone else. For me this game tried to be too many games at once--each of them with a mediocre execution. I lost interest about 25% of the way through. Maybe one day I'll pick it back up, but I've got quite the backlog to tackle before that happens.

I fail to understand what is with that lately - games like Oblivion, Halo 3, Bioshock and GTA IV get stratospheric scores ... yet within 3 months are being used as examples of blatant mistakes in previews for the 'next great thing'. I am thinking specifically how the same folks who were proclaiming Oblivion 'bestest game EVAR' are now talking about the games' 'obvious shortcomings and serious problems' when previewing Fallout 3.

I agree. It makes me wonder how much of the game these reviewers actually played. It's taken me about 4 months to get through 50% of the game. After about 10 missions everything becomes way too repetitive. It seems that Rockstar were too caught up in improving things like graphics and introducing multiplayer, that they forgot what made GTA popular in the first place.
26 hours in to the game i beat it and then did some side missions for maybe 8 hours then was just done with it and traded it on here several months later and multiplayer really really sucks!
