Hi everyone. I recently installed Boot Camp with Vista and have been loving it so far for work compatibility. I was wondering if someone could assist me in explaining how to use the Apple slim keyboard numpad located on the right of the keyboard (like any keyboard) when using excel on vista.

I use Office 2007 and the numbers just move my cells. I cant use the numbers. Thanks for all the assistance!

A Clear key, instead of a Num Lock key, on models with full numeric keypads, as these are dedicated to numerals and not generally used for cursor control.

You need to enable the num lock feature.

Well, at least you have that one ... I grabbed the wireless one and that shares a feature with the Macbook Pro - no numeric keypad embedded.  I rarely use it but occasionally it is nice.

I can't believe they took the numeric keypad off of the wireless keyboards. I use that keypad extensively and back when I used a Dell laptop I even bought a separate numeric keypad to plug in since it drove me crazy.

I blame Sid Meier. I never used those keys until I figured out that I could move diagonally in Civ I.

I had a hard decision, but the small wireless one is so convenient that I couldn't NOT buy it ... it works great at my desk with my mighty mouse and wireless keyboard, the Mac up higher, and my HP2133 Mini-Note in the middle.

Another issue I have come accross with boot camp is sound. I have zero sound with it. This could be the most annoying issue as I have searched everywhere online and throughout vista messing with sound settings and I get zippo.

Did you guys get this issue? what did you do about it?

I've been using the older wireless keyboard, which does have the numeric keypad. I like the feel of the slim, but not nearly enough to switch.

Have you checked the Apple forums?  Personally I have been using BootCamp since the very start and *never* had an issue with sound.  My nifty Dell XPS1730 hasn't seen power since August ...

Yea, I have checked them. The support forums on apple imo are pretty fail. Mac Rumors forums smoke them.

I generally oppose all forms of smoking ... but find the MacRumors forums quite good.
