I'm pleased to report that entering my thirties does not seem to be decreasing my desire to play video games in the least.  In fact, they seem to be what I'm most likely to request for presents.  This year, my husband got me "Spore" (and a plush Domo-Kun dressed as a pumpkin).

Feel free to make jokes about my age.  Sample: You're so old that when you were a kid, the current gen console was "Big Rock with Stick."

Happy 30th!

It is good to see that you aren't worried about your age - 30 is very young and there is so much of life ahead to get bogged down with a silly number.

I look at it this way - as you were hitting your teen years the SNES was just coming out.  That is pretty young!

i just turned 30 also. what is sad is my physical traininer i'm working with told me i'm losing muscle mass every year. dang it. no wonder I can't polish off a pizza without showing it anymore

I had a birthday at the start of the month.  The Mrs. bought me Rock Bank SE (360), a crimson and black DS and FFIV (DS).  She almost out did my effort on her birthday

I personally stopped counting when I hit 19, the legal drinking age in New Brunswick (Canada).  Those were the days I tell you, I had hair.

Anyways im pretty young, 18, but i wouldn't worry much. Just look at TXA he is probably the oldest person on here (not trying to insult you TXA) and loves videogames and spends a good amount of free time playing them, while also taking care of his family.

If I felt insulted about being the oldest gamer around I would have quit gaming about 20 years ago or so ...

i wasn't sure you would not feel insulted if i called you old so i put that in there for good measure.

Edit: also i game with my pops on the 360 a good amount, mainly CoD4, sometimes madden and gears.

Well said.  I gamed with my Dad on a Timex Sinclair, Atari, Commodore 64 (L shift+O ftw!), and 486.  I love playing "Cars" for the Wii with my 3 year old.  It's almost like a legacy, now.

I recently heard from a very reliable source that the average age for gamers is 33... so you're still ahead of the curve!
