Just A PSA to my Fellow Goozexians that there are some nasty viruses going around, computers at my work have been slammed and even my laptop at home has been hit twice. These viruses have been found hiding in links off of even popular websites such as USAToday's. Even more so, just be careful of what you're downloading and where you're downloading it from.
This stuff gets into your registry and begins to alter the files; one variation makes your internet browser completely useless so that you are unable to search for/download a fix.
I recommend to EVERYONE to download the program Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, this (in my opinion) is the best FREE spyware/virus/adware search and removal program. Downloading it now coupld potentially save your from scrambling to get on another computer, download it and burn it to a disc because your internet browser is useless.
And to think, they all laughed at me for using a Mac...
Actually I have a funny story related to that. At work we also use Macs, but my boss has one Windows-only program that he has to use so we have a Windows emulator called Parallels installed. Long story short, one time he actually managed to infect the Windows partition of his computer with a virus by opening an .exe in a spam email. I was pretty impressed at that, it may be some kind of landmark in computer history.
