The first one has an 'edge' to my ears, the latter sounds like you could be on Lawrence Welk:

- Up next, Guy LaRoche and the Cleveland Steamers with their a-latest a-swingin' tune!

But then I was working on naming our band before groups like the Police and U2 were even popular ... so I don't think I'm your target demographic!

talking about socket puppets and hidden meaning, i still can't forget about the red hot chili peppers coming out and doing a concert purely in socks, yeah i like their music but i tend to sticking with liking women not men.

no, there isnt

and yes people i liked the name sock puppet better, but the other 3 band members like cleveland steamers better and say we cant get famous being 'sock puppet' but there is a dirty meaning to cleveland steamer which is bizzare

Not to rain on your parade, but even a cursory Google search reveals that there are numerous bands with both of those names already.  Time to think of something more original...
