Original 60GB looks like it was, and is, the best deal. I got mine.

I agree! The hard wire backswords compatibility is nice and sought after on ebay. I also bleve that the second best to have is the first 80 gig PS3.

Yeah, I'm very happy with my 80g (motorstorm) sku.  I've never had a problem with the software PS2.

I have a friend who got a 80GB and says that it doesn't play some of his PS2 games. Is there a list somewhere of all the supported PS2 games on the software BC 80GB's?

playstation has it on their official website where you can search the game for compatability
