Yeah, I saw that and didn't find it newsworthy ... not much better than a new color, really!  Better screen for outdoors, change the home button and give a microphone.  New system!

meh.  The slim is barely an upgrade over the phat.  I say that because I prefer the build of the phat over the slim, despite the improvements.

I'm interested to see what kind of anti-piracy measures were taken with the 3000.  To me, these new features really aren't enough to warrant a system upgrade, so I'm sure the real motive is to combat piracy.

New info says that this upgrade is really what the slim *should* have been:

- Increased color pallette

- 5 x contrast

- 2 x response time (actually half, twice as fast, you get my meaning)

So it isn't too bad in terms of an update ... but we are still nowhere near the 'DS Lite' sort of update.

Heh. I remember popping Animal Crossing into my brand new DS Lite and thinking the colors were wrong, but no, I was just used to looking at what turned out to be garbage on my DS phat.

I may be up for investing in a PSP 3000. I still have my original launch unti, and while the Slim wasn't enough to make me upgrade - this new model may just do the trick.

The refresh rate of the screen is a nice addition as the ghosting slightly annoyed me. Even bigger though is if the improvement really does help in bright sunlight. I tend to take my PSP out with me during lunch to watch a movie or play a game. Helps break up the work day, but on sunny days its nearly impossible to use. Would have to see if the new screen is really a big improvement in that regard.

Also, the inclusion of the mic is nice, since I would like to be able to use Skype when I travel. I thought it was a great inclusion on the Slim, but the fact that I needed to buy another headset in order to use it was a big let down. If I can use my current headset now and the mic on the PSP for clear Skype calls, you may just have to count me in for one!

Then again, they best announce some new PSP games - because as things currently look, after I finish the lot I have now it looks like my PSP might be on hiadus :(

I have been eying a GOW bundle at my local Shop Ko store for sum time and its been getting closer and closer to the discount section. I have been getting sum good discounts them $1.50 PSP games and $4.00 PS2/PS3 games, they will cut anything if it sites to long. It’s $199 now but I’m sure it will drop to the $169 - $189 mark on or if not before black Friday. These few improvements might be enough for me to consider looking at the PS3000. The mic, more pic, and speed I like but the playing in the sun thing I don’t think so, I don’t know about any one else ...but I look fore a nice cool shaded spot to play my PSP.

Hard choice.

I should also add on the going to a PS3000, that we (my son and me ) would be going from Fatboys to a PS3000 so the list of improvements would be more than just a few.
