Hey there,
Anybody have any suggestions on some good multiplayer games to play over the Internet? I’m especially interested in games that can be played against others offline much like PBEM (Play by Email) if you know what I mean. I got Field Commander because of the ability to do this but I’ve only ever seen 1 other person online and nobody ever plays the games I try setting up.
On that note, has anybody fooled around with the software that allows you to play ad-hoc games over the Internet by turning a PC into a type of bridge to connect to other players in the same way? I forget the name of it but I stumbled across it a while back but couldn’t get it to work.
In terms of Infrastructure games, I like:
- Killzone Liberation
- Medal of Honor Heroes 2
- Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron
- Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Logan's Shadow, and Combat Ops
- SOCOM FTB 1, 2, and Tactical Strike
... but none of those are turn-based strategy games. Field Commander looked promising, but really under-delivered.
For ad-hoc over internet, the utility is here (http://www.xbconnect.com/). There is also a way to do this with a Mac listed here (http://www.tuaw.com/2005/03/30/how-to-play-your-psp-over-the-internet-via-your-mac/)
