My DS sees little playtime with my 360 taking up most of it. However, Chrono Trigger for the DS caught my eye and I have always heard how godly of a game it was on the SNES so I can't wait to try it for myself.

Normally I don't respond in threads like this, but Bangai-O...Treasure's title looks like a treasure.

I'm ashamed of you, Lurk.

I've been a sucker for all of the DS ports of console games I've never played, so the Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger games I'll grab.

I'm also anxiously waiting for the release of 'Mazes of Fate', an updated port of a GBA game that is more like a old-school PC RPG.  Loved that one.

Also think the Gaunlet update should be interesting as well as Bioware's Sonic Dark Brotherhood game.

Love the recent run on jRPG's and strategy-RPG's, could use more FPS and PC-style RPG's though.

I would love to see an "Advance Wars' redemption... Days of Ruin dragged the series down in my opinion.

I'm still just playing Picross on my DS right now, so anything new and exciting would be nice. I saw some upcoming FPS that was similar to Doom III.... might be up for checking that out.

Like I said tho, aside from the occsional Picross, my DS isn't really getting much use these days.

I'm up for checking out Chrono Trigger because of how much people talk abotu it, and like TXA I've never played the original.

The DS game I would KILL for however is a brand spankin new 2D Metroid game. Sadly, I doubt it will ever happen - but Metroid died for me when it became Metoid Prime. Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission where two great games... why oh why can't they do another!?!?!?!

I really loved the changes in tone and overall feel, it is one of my faves, but then I didn't play the GBA games too much - my older son loves them.

I'm always on the hunt for handheld FPS ... sad addiction I have that normally results in me paying too much for crap.

I've been playing them since the GBA titles, and while I'll admit the characters were probably too colorful and gleeful for a game that revolved around war, I really had no problems with them. With Days of Ruin (in my opinion) they stripped ALL the character from the game and left it with a drawn out, bland story, uninteresting characters and a somewhat featureless husk of Advance Wars. Granted the core gameplay mechanics are still intact, so the game is most certainly worth playing.

I've been such a huge Advance Wars fan since I first got into the series, and Days of Ruin is the first AW game that I don't get warm and fuzzy feelings for :(

Back on track, I'm still trying to find the post & images for that FPS game I was referring too. I too am always looking for a good portable FPS, but like you said - there is a lot of crap out there...

Oh, I wouldn't mind another portable Zelda. While not very challenging, I really enjoyed Phantom Hourglass.

I'm really looking forward to the Viva Pinata port.  I dug the 360 version and it looks like they're changing all the things I was frustrated by in the DS release.

My most wanted DS game would have to be the New Super Mario Bros.

When I first got the DS early 2008, I wasn't too interested in the games already available..but now..Fall 2008 and 2009, there are tons of titles that I want. But I'm super excited for the possible 2009-2010 US release of "Enchanted Folk and the School of Wizardry/(Tongari Bôshi)" and "Little Magician's Magic Adventure/(Tongariboushi to Mahou no 365-Nichi)."

I love 'Mazes of Fate' that recently came out - it is disappointing in terms of the quality of the (GBA) port but still a great game.

Sonic Chronicles this week ...

I am loving the 16bit era style RPGs/Strategy RPGs. I am really looking forward to all the Dragon Quest remakes, as well as Dragon Quest IX. I am a little worried that DQIX will not be as epic as the 100+ VIII, but time will tell.

I have mixed feelings about the Final Fantasy remakes, III was interesting because I hadn't played the original (and I'm a sucker for job systems). However, IV hasn't really connected with me and I have more or less lost interest in finishing it. I am curious how a remake of V would turn out, since it is essentially III with a different story and improved job system. I have a feeling that I will prefer just to replay the GBA version.

As mentioned previously, a new 2D metroid game would be a must buy as well. I'm shamelessly stuck in the 16bit era.
