Anyone picking it up this week? The demo was a bit generic, but I liked the unique way of taking material drops to custom fit upgrades on the workbench. Looks like a good time waster. Thoughts?

I thought the demo was worse than just 'generic' ... but I really did enjoy Dungeon Siege II (but of course the demo for that showed it wouldn't be the same mindless crap as DS 1).  I'm on the fence about it, probably wait because I still haven't made much progress in Silverfall: Earth Awakening or Legend Hand of God.

Funny you should mention those two games. I purchased and played maybe 2 hours of Silverfall: EA but its so far bored me to tears. I did enjoy the demo for Legend Hand of God and am on the fence about picking that title up. I've been trying to finish games I've purchased (yea, probably never going to happen) so I have quite a bit on my plate. Being a DS/DSII fan and Gas Powered Games fan in general makes me want to purchase Space Siege, but I'm still not quite convinced.

Did you play the original Silverfall?  I did and reviewed it for RPGWatch. (http://www.rpgwatch.com/show/article?articleid=46)

My fave quote: "I found that the 'attachment' factor was pretty low in this game - it was just not one of those games that jump out and demand to be played."

Yes, I have the original Silverfall and it too died on the shelf for me. The mini map was the killer as it changed orientation while you were out questing making it damn near impossible to use. I see that in the expansion, the mini map is still as convoluted as the original, except now they try to explain what the blue and green markers mean.

I linked it in another thread, but my review is here.
