My mom may switch to comcast triple-play to get the free Nintendo Wii. I was wondering, what games should i get? I'm already thinking Super Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Kart, but what other games. I'm more into shooting games, but what you say doesn't have to be a shooting game, i like a lot of genres of games
i dont have a wii yet either but when i get one i know im a pidk up Resident Evil 4.
Here is list of games, I have not listed up for trade, that I own:The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessMario Strikers: ChargedMario Kart WiiWii FitMario Party 8Wii PlayWii Sports (probably not necessary to list)Mario & Sonic at the Olympic GamesBig Brain AcademyRayman Raving Rabbids (1 & 2)Super Monkey Ball: Banana BlitzSuper Paper MarioThey're all pretty good. Mario Kart is a must have.
Well.. For shooters, Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is probably your best bet. I haven't played it, but I've heard nothing but good things. I have Call of Duty 3, and it's great but there isn't any multiplayer; splitscreen or online. Far Cry is only 200 points, but I've heard it's a pretty bad game.
I would definately get SSBB, but I don't suggest Mario Kart Wii if you've got Mario Kart DS. There really isn't much difference.
And now to my own suggestions..
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz - Fun, but sometimes frustrating. If you have a short temper, I don't recommend this game as some of the challenges are unreal, but I beat it in 3 days.
Rayman Raving Rabbids: Funny, but minigames (the game is a collection of minigames) can get somewhat repetitive; although it is an excellent alternative to Mario Party 8.
Mario Party 8 - Overrated. If you've played the other ones, there's not much new here. You'd think you'd use the wiimote creatively, but not really. It's only fun if you have 3-4 people playing, otherwise don't get it.
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - Pretty fun and refreshing point and click adventure/puzzle game. IGN liked it so much they launched a campaign for everyone to get. It has pretty low replay value, but you'll have a blast playing it the first time. I don't suggest getting it on Goozex as you can get it for as low as $8 brand new shipped.
Super Mario Galaxies: Highly reccomend. It's a great game and will take you awhile to complete. The wiimote use isn't that innovative, but it works and it's tons of fun. Good replay and resell value too.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl: My favorite game on the Wii. I can play this for hours and never get bored. If you don't have friends or siblings to play with, though, it really isn't that great at all. But Goozex has a Brawl night and you'll have more than enough friends to keep you busy throughout the week.
Mario Kart Wii: A lot of people like this game, but I really just don't like it that much. Mario Kart DS is still my favorite Mario Kart. If the last one you played was Double Dash or Mario Kart 64, you'll probably enjoy this I suppose.
Zelda Twilight Princess: It's fun, sometimes I get lost though. Personally I think the gamecube version is better.
Wii Play WITH WIIMOTE: It's fun for awhile, but it isn't that great. Since you get a Wiimote with it, the game comes out to $10 or less. If you want another Wiimote, this is the way to do it.
Call of Duty 3: Only Single player, no splitscreen or online, but it's a lot of fun. Only 12 missions, but it's probably worth it.
Well that's my Wii collection. If you can get a 360 or PS3, get those instead of the Wii; as there's not that many good games for Wii and there won't be in the near future. Nintendo focuses on the non-gaming crowd, so most of the games are simple, and quite frankly, stupid.
It's not a bad system by any means, but you'd be a lot better off with an X360 or PS3. But then again, you can always trade it for another.

I already have a 360. I'm on at the goozex nights sometimes. I just need a few games to think about before picking up the wii. Yeah, i'm definately getting SSBB and most likely getting Mario Kart Wii, since i oly have heard great things about it. I'm not planning on getting much, maybe 3 or 4 games, since i will mainly be playing my Xbox 360.
Also, thanks for the tips. I was thinking of resident evil 4, and i wouldn't get CoD3 sice i have CoD4 on te 360 (just saying)
Depending on your age, the Wii may not be for you. If you are in the 18-35 demographic that most types of media (including videogames) are geared towards, I wouldn't be too concerned over the system as it won't appeal too much to what type of gaming you are looking for. If you are under or over that demographic, you will probably have a great time with the system.

I'm 15, but i'm morer into the shooter types like BF: Bad company and CoD4. If i get the wii, i only plan on getting a few games like i've already said. That'll be SSBB, Mario Kart Wii (maybe), Wii sports, Wii fit (or w/e it's called) and maybe one more game. I have Xbox Live, and i'm mainly on that. Wii will just be when i get bored with those games or w/e
