I just mailed my first game today, it was a GBA game in the box in a bubble envelope. which weighed next to nothing.

the lady said the shipping would cost $7 which was WAY more than i expected. frig. im not even sure if it was worth it for the measley 300 points.

are there any ways to reduce shipping costs?

Check out this thread for shipping advice. There is no way it should cost you that much.

If you want to equate Goozex points to real money, 100 GP = $5.

As for reducing shipping costs, there are a few really helpful threads.  Try typing shipping into the search bar, or go to the 'New to site' portion of the forums, I believe they are there.

i read that threat and it didnt help me much.

i paid 88cents for the bubble envelope. it was the shipping that screwed me over. apparently it weighed too much.

It's all in the threads. Helped me out immensely! Should be around $2.35-2.85 with confirmation..

Don't buy bubble mailers at the Post Office.

Secondly, how much did the package weigh?  And what shipping method through the USPS did you pay for?  Priority mail?

Don't ship priority, that is probably what you were charged for, just use first class.

Yeah, use First Class with Delivery Confirmation, and ever if you buy their 88 cent packages it should not cost more the 3.50if it does then you are getting screwed by your postmaster big time

I've shipped a couple of full package GBA games and it usually costs me $2.25-$2.50

They probably had you shipping Priority as that starts around 4.60 or so.  Ship First Class.  The game will get there in 2-3 days and with Delivery Confirmation should only cost about 3 bucks.  Even with a bubble mailer you should be out for less than 5 bucks and in most cases 4.

I reuse the bubble mailers that I get games in. I'll also scrounge around the office and find other peoples used ones. Just rip the old label off or just cover it with your own.

She charged you for priority man, the woman down to my PO get's all anal on thickness of package and stuff sometimes, and actually asks me "In what way's can I bilk you today?" So I have to ship at a different Post office sometimes when she's working, she also won't put DC # on a first class package if it's not at least 1/2 inch thick... IE: Bubble mailer with a PS/Gamecube/X-box game. She'll try to charge me priority...

Also the cheapest bubble mailers I found are at Dollar Tree/ 2-3M mailers for a $1. Or at wallyworld for 67 cents-Duck brand.

    This thread helped me   http://www.goozex.com/community/forums/t/329.aspx

Using rictor's methods my cost is about $3ish to send a game first class or $2.50ish if sent by media mail.  It also eliminates the need to even go to the post office since you're printing them yourself.

*edit* I see timpysan already suggested that thread lol.  I guess I don't understand how that didn't help you.  Unless you dont have a printer or something.
