Cool. Now I don't have to shell out $100 for the SNES version or deal with the craptacular PSone port.

Don't count your chickens before the newest port is hatched. Wink

All seriousness, I hope it's a better port than the PS1 edition. However, FF3 advance has led me to believe that it won't be.

Well this isn't a full remake like FF III. This is Chrono Trigger as it was when it came out 12 years ago. Graphics and all. This is a straight port.

With all the interest Square is showing in it's older games lately, it'd be cool if they rereleased Secret of Mana with all the deleted content restored.

Or maybe....I dunno.......the whole Mother series?

That would be the whipped cream and cherry on my awesome cake.

Well considering the Mother series is Nintendo, I don't think Square has a say in the matter.

Yeah but Nintendo has already said localization efforts for something like that would be too time consuming/expensive.

it stands to possibility that they would be willing to take a percentage of the profits if another company were to localize said game. A small company might have a problem convincing them, but someone like square who already has experience localizing older games (FF3, FF4)  would be able to do something like that for a smaller amount than nintendo which might have to assign a banrd new team and also with no graphical changes, just a straight port, you would be talking about translation more than anything.

I am not saying it is happening, but if you were to hear that a nintendo owned property were being localized by squeenix, would it really surprise you?

    Just throwing that out there.

Honestly I would be shocked. but then again.8 years ago I would have been shocked if Sega started making Sonic games for Nintendo, and that Xbox would be a sucess. 12 years ago I would have been shocked if Square abandoned Nintendo. and 6 years ago I would have been shocked if they ever released a game on a nintendo platform again.

On a related note, am I the only one who would rather see such things done by Mistwalker instead of Square? Seeing as those guys are the original Square group, I think they'd do a better job. Just my opinion.
