I bought sonic rush and it was aweful, so I diden't even bother with adventure

Probably have to say Adventure, I own Sonic RUsh and I like that, but I only play Adventure for a minute or two from my Friend :)

Same here.  My first game ever was Sonic 2 and had high hopes for Rush.  Frustrating level design and lack of focus on Sonic lead me to send the game back out well before I finished it.

I don't get the hate I'm seeing here. Neither game is Sonic 2... 2, but I still consider both really good games in their own right and the closest you're going to get so far to a good modern Sonic experience.

If I had to choose only one game, Rush has more to it and should provide more replay value.
