GameCube component cables are the holy grail of Nintendo GameCube stuff, aren't they? I still have my launch system with the digital output, but I'm looking for these cables anywhere but Ebay. Anyone know where I can pick these guys up at a reasonable price? And yes, I have Wii component cables...but that's besides the point.

fleetsidefil:Out of curiosity, why aren't you considering Ebay? I got my cables from the Nintendo site. It's a bummer they don't have 'em any longer.
Just 'cause of costs. It looks like that is the resource for these bad boys.
Yeah, there's not many other options, though looking through completed listings, they're not too much more than they were through Nintendo: $30 + shipping.

Thanks for the footwork. Sorry for being so lazy, but if correct...I'll bite. Again, I appreciate you looking for me. I guess that everyone has jumped on their Wiis and Wii component cables. I would too if not for the GameBoy Player in progressive mode. Yeehaw.
I have no idea about these since they are universal or anything about the company, but here is my shot.

That's interesting. Usually these universals do not allow for GameCube to be run through component, just composite as the GameCube required a proprietary doo-hickie. I'll look into this. Thanks for posting.
If this thing plugs into the normal a/v slot, it's not true component-quality picture you're gonna be getting, but what they deem to be "good 'nuff" and will be inferior to anything legitimate you can get officially. If it uses the digital-out slot that all the older Gamecubes had, it might do the trick though.
I'd still suggest an official cable over any sort of "universal" plug. You know you get what you pay for when you see that golden Nintendo Stamp 'o Approval.
Ok, this is an old topic I know, but if you are still looking for these, I would suggest checking your local Gamestops where they sell for $4.99 used (if you can find one, of course.) YMMV on availability so I wouldn't make a special trip just for this, but if you're near one anyway and have a spare minute or two, it's worth a shot.
I'll keep my eye out for them as well for you.
Lurknomore:worshipsf, thanks for this reminder about the GameStop availability of the GCN component cables. I haven't had much luck with their inventory locater, as the two seemingly positives that I had come up in my local area...I later would come to find that they were mislabeled as component cables. It amazes me that these kids don't know the difference between component cables and composites.
Ah, sorry to hear about that. Some of these folks really don't know what they are doing - I was at a Gamestop a few weeks ago where I found a Monster HDMI cable labeled as "PS2 component cable" and a Monster PS2 S-video cable labeled as "Gamecube controller"
Now that's comedy, worshipsf. Seems like you could have gotten some deals from that GameStop from all of the mis-labelling.
heard they are pretty cheap if you can find it at gamestop, the newer gamecube models seem to not support component cables atll
