I invested heavily in the Dreamcast when it first came out. I got the light gun, keyboard just for Typing of the Dead, and a bunch of VMU's. Oh and games too. Some of my favorites were Silent Scope, The House of the Dead 2, Typing of the Dead, Rainbow Six, and I can't forget Soul Caliber. My Dreamcast unfortunately met it's untimely demise at the hands of Gamestop. I had planned on trading it in for a Gamecube but thats a really long story. All my Dreamcast games were kept in excellent, almost new condition too.
After I signed up with Goozex, I was browsing through the DC games and noticed Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is worth like a million points. um....yeah... I traded that in with my DC probably for 2 bucks.
I'll go with one of my more obscure favorites...Bangai-O. It is a great and often over-looked shooter. And to be honest, there are just too many great and memorable games from the DC era. Even the 2k sports titles are classics and still hold-up in my opinion.

My favorite DC game would have to be Shenmue, with Soul Caliber a close second.
When joining Goozex I was also surprised to see Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was worth 1000 points; I traded it away happily.

I really enjoyed Shenmue as well, I just wish somebody with the DC version of Shenmue II would put it up for 'sale'.....
Overall, I have to say that the game that keeps me coming back to the system is Soul Calibur. Its killing me that I lost my AV cord and I can't afford to buy a new one for another week or so.... Stupid pay cycles...

I love so many of those games. I've decided the Dreamcast is one of the systems staying now that I'm selling excess stuff for cash.
my favorite games are sword of the berserk guts rage, shenmue and soul calibur
all classics. so many of the DC games have held up for me over time-more so than other systems. they were so innovative.
There are a lot of great games for the system. Soul Calibur, Crazy Taxi, Rez, Jet Grind Radio, Typing of the Dead, Sega Rally 2, Shenmue 2, and Rayman 2 are muy, muy bueno.
Now that this thread has been bumped up, I just remembered that I really enjoyed the Bleemcasted games...all three that were done. Yes, I know that they were PS1 games, but they really should be re-examined by anyone who is a DC fan. Metal Gear Solid, Tekken 3, and Gran Turismo 2 all look and play phenomenal on the DC with the Bleemcast appropriate discs. And the Bleemcast discs can be found here on Goozex, if memory serves me.
I keep seeing people talking about Dreamcast and even some saying it was there favorite system. I had one for some time and just didnt use all that much.
Well, with my interests peaked I called a couple of places looking for a used one (they are kind of expensive on Ebay for a system of that age). Well a place in Salem,MA had one NEW in the box for $40.00, Score!!
Congrats on the score. I have no idea what the going rate on the DC is nowadays, but I would never part with mine. My brother paid a pretty penny for my launch unit at the time, and I definitely have gotten my money's worth.
Anyhow, congrats and welcome to the bliss that comes from the world of DC gaming. It is different, I warn ya, but take some chances and you'll come away thoroughly satisfied.
ahhh, the fabled Dreamcast. I still look back upon mine with such fine memories. I picked up my Dreamcast at launch and grabbed random launch titles due to the fact that I hadn't done my homework on which ones were going to be worthwhile. Unfortunately, most that I bought were pure crap but there was a single gem in the bunch the made the Dreamcast a nightly event for my friends and I. That game, was Soul Calibur.
Endless, winner-stays-on, Soul Calibur brawls raged on in the basement with the Dreamcast quietly humming along. There hasn't been a game since to rival the matches my friends and I waged back in the day. I still recall the brutal taunting and mocking that followed each round, punctuated heavily by the extra bitch-slapping moments that occurred on screen even after a winner was declared. Oh yes, the soul still burns with those memories.
Other games that I fondly recall on the system are not only my favorite Dreamcast games, but also some of my favorite games of all time. Take Jet Grind Radio for example. The combination of style, music and gameplay had me tearing through Tokyo-to over and over again. I imported all the available soundtracks and hunted down the domestic promotional ones. I picked up an Xbox just to get my hands on Jet Set Radio Future, though sadly that game fell short of being the incredible experience that I found with JGR.
Other great times on the Dreamcast for me included:
It wasn't all rosy however on the Dreamcast, I also had the misfortune to play games such as Carrier and Trick Style (think that was the name of it). All in all however my time with the Dreamcast was mostly positive, and it's the reason I don't think I will ever party with the system. Sure, it may only get fired up once every 6 - 12 months now, but every time is a fantastic walk down a virtual memory lane. With all this said, I'm very much looking forward to the new Soul Calibur on the 360. While my friend are too busy and spread out these days to once again gather in the basement, I'm hoping we can still relive some glory-gaming-moments via Xbox Live. Fingers are crossed for that.

Soul Calibur on the 360 might actually make me invest in one....
Greatest fighting game. Ever.
I also had one at launch, but it quickly gave way to the PS2 then utterly forgotten when the Xbox launched. I ultimately gave it to a nephew years ago.
Im sure Ill get some use out of it.
