Welcome to the 2008 Photoshop Contest! This is open to all Goozex members and gives you the opportunity to get free trade credits plus other prizes.

Don't be offensive to any person(s), group, race, religion or ethnicity
Don't use other copyrighted material and claim it as your own: Something like cutting and pasting Mario's head onto the Goozex body is not advised.

The Contest Schedule

May 3 - 24 - Members submit their graphic submissions
May 27 - June 2 - All approved submissions are divided into 5 voting groups based on the entry date - The winner of each voting group will move onto Final Five Vote
June 6 - 13 - Final Five Vote week -- the finalists from each voting group will be up for voting to determine the Final Five winner(*)
June 14 - Final winner announced!(**)

(*) in case of any ties, all winning ties will advance to the Final Five Vote

(**) in case of a tie, the voting session will be extended as long as one additional vote is casted to determine the top winner -- any member caught setting up multiple accounts to vote will be disqualified and all bonuses removed.

FAQ

Can I submit more than one entry?

Yes! We invite you to submit as many as you like -- this is a great way to get free trade credits and support the Goozex community

Can I be in the Final Five more than once?

Yes. This may happen if you are in multiple voting groups and you are voted the best in that category

Will Goozex use my work for their own purposes?

Maybe. We love using what our members create because it is your site at the end of the day and it's like hanging up your pictures in the house. For example, most of our eCards are member generated and Blackcoyote's avatar is from the previous Goozex photoshop contest.

Does Goozex make money off my entry?

No. We do not sell or profit from your entry at all.

What exactly is the approval process for the entries?

We are looking to reward those entries that really put a little effort into the submission. Mainly we will be looking to make sure you don't use copyrighted material like the Batman symbol or Master Chief's helmet head from a cut and paste job. Please see the Official Rules.
Don't worry if you don't have the photoshop skills, as long as you put in a decent effort into creating something you will be approved. We really want to make this fun for everyone.

Goozex Gamerscore Rules

Only four winners will be selected. One winner will be selected by having the best gamerscore at the end of the competition. The remaining three winners will be randomly selected and the probability of winning will be based on the number of eligible entries in the contest. All winners must complete one trade on Goozex as either a buyer or seller. Multiple accounts, unconfirmed accounts, fake email addresses, or inaccurate home addresses will disqualify an entry into the sweepstakes. The winner must have a valid United States, Canadian or Bermudian mailing address on file with Goozex at the time of the contest. Any prize won by a minor will be awarded to his parent or legal guardian. The winner may not redeem the prize for cash, Goozex points or trade credits. The winner will be notified by email and has 96 hours to respond via email; failure to accept the prize within this timeframe may result in the selection of an alternate winner. Goozex will mail the prize to the winner at the address provided upon registration.

Hey everyone,

Today marks the three year anniversary of when Goozex opened the site to the public. On day one we completed a couple of trades. Day two picked up a couple more. Today we are doing thousands of trades thanks to the community that loves saving money and getting the most value for their games.

We wanted to celebrate with a mini contest for our members and here the details:

Contest runs from July10 - July 19 (midnight PST)

Submit a Goozex Berfday Video = 3 Tokens

Post a quick video on the Internet (youtube, vimeo, etc) about the Goozex 3 year anniversary. Make it fun and creative and the Gteam will pick one happy person to receive a $60 Amazon gift certificate prize! Some suggested ideas are talk about the money you saved, the best trades you've picked up, becoming the best LVP ever, what you would say to NinjaJ if you met him in person, who wins in a fight Goozex monster vs. Thunder Bay seal clubbers, etc.

Submit a Photoshopped Goozex Image = 2 Tokens

Post an edited image (photoshop, paint, etc) with the theme of Goozex, the GTeam, or members celebrating the three year anniversary. We'll also accept self portraits with a sign saying happy berfday Goozex!

Submit a Blog Post About Goozex = 1 Token

Do you write and share your thoughts about Goozex on a blog somewhere? Post a happy berfday message and link it here to get a free token!

Rules:

Limit one token prize per member (Pick either the 3, 2, or 1 token submission and the max tokens you can earn is 3 tokens for the video submission) -- multiple submissions will only give you one of the token prizes, whichever is greatest.
Tokens will be given in the first week after the contest ends.
The Goozex Team will pick one video submission to receive the Amazon Gift Certificate (make it fun!)
Our video and pictures rules and rights apply (click on their respective links to read them)

Mini NCAA Tourney Contest

Hey everyone,

On select games throughout the tournament, we'll be playing a little contest on picking the right final scores for select NCAA Tournament games. Here's how it will work.

Prize: 5 Free Trade Credits

I will post select games for which you should pick the final score.
The sum of that score will be the number we use to figure out who came the closest, without going over.
That winner will get 5 free trade credits
You can only submit one final score to me either here on the forum or via twitter.com/goozex
Once you post, you cannot change your mind.
You can only win once per day in which the tournament is in action
If you are the winner for multiple games you will be rewarded for the one that you are numerically closest to the final score. If that applies to multiple games on the same day then you will win all of them.
If there is a tie, we will award all winners that came closest to the final score

Here's an example:

UConn vs. Pitt in the final game: 70 - 65 (70 + 65 = 135 is your guess). The real score ends up being 70 - 74 (70 + 74 = 144). You were off by 9, but win because you were the closest of all the other members playing. If your total score was over 144 then you would not have won, even if it is 145. Think Price is Right style.

And as long as Maryland is in the tourney -- they will be a selected game!

Hey everyone,

What an amazing group of videos this year! Looks like our directors improved upon last years works as a lot creativity went into each one and the G-Team has been blown away, yet again by our members' enthusiasm for Goozex. Now begins the difficult task of dwindling down the large group of videos to a final five!

We are inviting members to cast their vote for the video submission they enjoyed the most. The voting results will determine the Final Five Goozex video submissions. One of the lucky final five will win the Rock Band 2 Bundle of their preferred system choice. Remember, all final five winners win a prize with the Rock Band 2 prize going to the overall winner!

Hey Everyone!

We are happy to start off the winter season with our Deck the Halls with Goozex Games - Video Contest! This is a video contest where we want you to create and upload your Goozex Holiday themed videos to have a little fun, share with the community and enter to win the Rock Band 2 Bundle.

If you remember our last video contest, we had some amazing videos come out about what Goozex is all about. This time around, we want you to have fun with the idea that Goozex is a part of your Holiday & winter life. Over the next month there are many ways people celebrate the Holidays and we hope Goozex will be a small part of the gift giving joy (or at least massive game playing!).

FILM

Grab your digital cameras and start filming! Keep these guidelines in mind when editing:

1. Make your video 30 seconds to 5 minutes in length

2. Post it on Youtube and abide by their Terms of Use

3. No profanity, nudity, religion attacks, or anything that would get you kicked from Youtube or Goozex

Most importantly, be creative and have fun! Make the video anything about Goozex, winter, and/or your Holiday moments.

It's a cliche, but time flies when you're on Goozex! Two years have passed and you have made this the best online game trading community. Remember the EGM, Gamesradar, CAG, Destructoid press that said so?

To celebrate the monster's birthday we're giving away two great prizes: PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Elite. To be eligible you just need invite three of your friends. Yes, it's that easy!

Goozex is giving away one Sony PlayStation 3 (MSRP $399.99) and one Xbox 360 Elite (MSRP $449.99) to two lucky Goozex.com members!

To be eligible to win either prize, you must be a registered user on Goozex.com and have referred a minimum of three email activated users who have given valid mailing addresses. Entries for the PlayStation 3 prize will be accepted from July 10, 2008 until midnight August 10, 2008 (PST). On August 11, 2008, Goozex will randomly select one winner among the eligible entrants. Entries for the Xbox 360 Elite prize will be accepted from August 12 until midnight September 12, 2008 (PST). On September 13, 2008, Goozex will randomly select one winner among the eligible entrants.

What a massive turnout of awesome photoshopped Gooziness! The G-Team was really impressed with your creativity and what came out. We hope you had a great time submitting your ideas of all things Goozex. Now it is time to cast your vote!

116 entries were placed into five voting groups (A, B, C, D, E). Your job is to vote for your favorite entry within each group. On June 3 the voting will end and the winners from each group will move onto the FINAL FIVE.

Please post any comments, feedback, questions about any of the groups in this thread

Some quick housecleaning:

1. Double check your vote before casting because you only get one chance to get it right -- we cannot delete your vote or let you vote again.
