A review I wrote from a while back.

I'm not a big fan of racing games, be it cars, skateboards, motorcycles, etc. So if a racing game can capture my attention, that means the game is pretty damn fun.

Gameplay:
I'm enjoying the unlockables and the alternative game mode. Crash mode is an alternative to racing. Instead of destroying your opponent, you guide your car like a missile into oncoming traffic and attempt to cause the hugest traffic pileup in that city. It's very addicting. Even my girlfriend's baby sister was enjoying watching all the cars fly around smack dab into other cars (hope she doesn't turn out to be a terrible driver ^__^) In the world circuit, there are several different modes to achieve a medal. Burning Lap, Hot Pursuit, Road Rage, etc. So no repetitive going around in circles such as that in Grand Prix or Gran Turismo.

Graphics:
Very impressive. I think there are two views. Driver's point of view and 3rd person point of view. Now if the driver's point of view included the dashboard and steering wheel, I'd have a higher reviewer's tilt for the game. :) The graphics of the cars and of the tracks are well-done.

Sound:
I'm not quite into their choice of music. The songs they chose to include as the soundtrack seem....pretty tame when you are attempting to drive people into walls, buses, traffic, etc.

Value:
Seening how it's been out awhile now, majority of retail stores around my area have dropped the price. Last time I checked, it was ranging from $19.99-29.99 instead of the $49.99 price tag when I first saw it as. Lucky for me, I won an auction on eBay for under 20 dollars back in Feb 2006. If I had played a demo of this game back then, I would have jumped on the original price tag.

Overall:
If you need a racing game for your PSP, buy this game. Multiple game-modes and the ability to multi-play with others using one UMD (so I've heard. I do not know anyone with a PSP around my area to try it.) Good luck to those who are attempting 100% game completion and for those who do not own this game, buy it!

Cheers :)
