I have been having an absolute blast with this game. It is basically to baseball what NFL Blitz is to football. It is an over-the-top, arcade-style, slammin' good time. That said, purists may not find quite as much to like.

Don't get me wrong, I consider myself a true baseball fan. I'm a stat junky and it does hurt a little that this game has absolutely no stat tracking or any of the standard season modes one might expect from a sports game. However, the Create A Rookie feature is a lot of fun and puts you in numerous scenarios with various situational goals. The game play is very fast - most games only last four or five innings. Homerun pinball is a mini-game included in the 360 and PS3 versions that can suck a surprising amount of time away.

One other observation I've made while playing The Bigs: the achievements are disgustingly easy to unlock. Within my first thirty minutes of play time, I had unlocked over a dozen achievements. The day after purchasing the game, I had unlocked over half of the available achievements. If you're looking to pad your gamer score, this is at least worth a rental.

For my fellow baseball fans, if you have another baseball game you can turn to for stats and simulation-style game play, I highly recommend at least giving this one a look.

Dude your right, this game is NFL Blitz but converted into a baseball form. Which is sweet, NFL blitz was a blast to play.
