I think the free trading is a great way to celebrate the one yr mark for this site.  Now I have been first inline for my two request for about 2 weeks now.  I have no trade credits saved up.  Do I have to get trade credits in order to partake in this free trading?

No, you dont need to have trade credits. after you have confirmed to have a game sent to you your "trades" Statistic will be 1 lower that it was, but it will go back to what it was before that after a few hours. this free trading is awsum and you should use the privlidge while it lasts.

I've noticed that I'm getting more requests for my games this month, too. it's been great all around. I hope you get your first trade soon! how many points do you have right now?

I have to agree, I love the free trade month. There have been games arriving in my mailbox much more often. I was hoping I could unload some of my games, but only one has moved down in turns to go even with the free trade promo. There should be a way to change the starting point of the match system every week or so. It just seems like there are some games they never get to.

I'm also getting games much more frequently; everyday is Christmas thanks to Goozex. I have not been sending out games as much though, it seems I have traded away all of my desirable games, and the ones left are moving much slower. So, I have to start beating the pile of games I’ve received lately, and game in my "pile of shame" so I have more to trade.

my games have been moving-even some cheapy low-want games-ones I NEVER thought people would trade for. So that's good. Some of them are still just sitting there, but that's the way it goes.

jeff-the matching has to do with what other users want-if some games aren't moving, it's because nobody has really requested them. updating the matching each week won't affect that. get more people to sign up-the more users on the site, the more likely stuff is to move in general.

The example I like to use is Lego Star Wars II : http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/itemdetail.asp?item=14649
There have been 7 available and 6 requested for the last 5 weeks, but there haven't been any trades. So does that mean those requests are fake? Hmm I'm sure it is probably because the people requesting don't have enough points or have reached their max trades at a time, but there is no way to see that. This of course leads into my thread in the suggestions folder about what should be listed as active and what should be on-hold. I think it's a pretty straight forward concept, but what do I know. Confused

my only issue being that this doesn't really affect anything. it doesn't make the trades happen any faster or slower-so why make the programmers re-work the way it happens? the on hold/ off hold thing WILL slow the matching down. this way, as soon as points are in, the match can happen-the way you want it, points come in, someone switches on a trade (be it you or the system), then the match happens. it seems to add an unnecessary step to the process, no?

It won't slow anything down. As soon as someone posts feedback for a transaction it's completed, so points are placed into accounts, trade slots are opened and requests/games are active again. The only reason I am suggesting it is to provide a clearer picture to the users what is happening.

I know we all want to get more people to join Goozex to make it bigger but I think it needs to get a little better also. It's been difficult to get friends to join when they see the trading process as a mystery. More accurate information on the trading pages would help make it clear what is going on, which makes people more comfortable with the way the system works, which in turn makes them more likely to join. I've tried to post this as a helpful suggestion, but this sure isn't the reaction I thought I would get.

This is exactly the way the system works now: whenever you don't have points, trade credits or slors available for a game, the system puts it on "virtual" hold, regardless of what your trading state is (Active or On Hold). Whenever you get the points/credits/slot available, the system puts it back in its original state (Active or On Hold). If it's Active, then it can be selected for a trade. If it's On Hold the points/credits/slots will be used for another game.

Where the confusion comes from is the "trading info" tab. Here Goozex lists the games in the Active or On Hold states... regardless if they are in those states, or are on "virtual" hold. My understanding - from what jedijeff says - is that the "trading info" tab would serve a better purpose if it provided information about "virtual" on hold as well, therefore giving a real picture of what and how many games are available for trading in this exact moment.

I would like to continue the discussion in the Suggestion forum (http://www.goozex.com/community/forums/23.aspx) with a discussion of this idea.
