Welcome to the forums! I haven't popped my copy into the Wii yet, but Super Mario Galaxy looks like it might be youngin' accessable.

thanks for the welcome and the quick replies. I've been lurking on these message boards for awhile and knew I could get good advice here
thats for the suggestions. My son can handle doing the movements and such (ala wii sports) but when it comes to using the nunchuck for moving around (the joystick) he doesn't have that yet. So i really need a game that is pretty much movement or simple aiming only. Although I want to check out Mario Galaxy so that would be sweet.
anyone check out the new link game....i the idea of a gun game is probally not the best but it looks to be a "test or demo" game similiar to wii play so maybe its simple but i dont think its on rails so it probally requires moving
Super Mario Galaxy is not only a great game for people of all ages, It also happens to be one of the best games available on any system.
There are very few Wii games that arent suitable for all ages.
ya mario looks pretty amazing.... ya the good thing about the wii is most the games are really accessable but my son is a real novice with games. (wii play is too tough for him at times) so games with mini games seem to be best as he can just click through them simply.....marios a good bet though cause even if he doesn't get it I'm sure i'm going to play it as I enjoyed paper mario.
ya mario party is a real good suggestion I had forgotten about that one.....it was great on gamecube....do you have to have 4 remote to play with 4 people or can you trade like in wii sports....probally need 4....but even still just the mini games would probally keep him busy enough...thanks
I too have a 4 year old son, who sounds like the same gaming level as your son....along with Wii Sports & Wii Play, he can easily play Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Raymin: Ravin Rabbids 1, Cooking Mama, and MarioKart 64 on the Virtual Console.
Wario Ware and Rayman are the most like what you are looking for....just pick up and play mini games. Wario Ware took me helping him learn how to hold the Wii remote all different ways, but once he learned he does it all himself.
Hope this helps!
just for an update I picked up Raymin-ravin rabbids1 for my son the other day. Since its older I was able to pick it up new for 30 bucks so I figured it was less of a risk. thanks for all the suggestions. This b-day is in feb so I will keep some of these other games in mind for then....thanks again
Not to rain on the parade, but pushing console gaming at 4 is just too early in my opinion. There are *loads* of PC options - from Dora / Diego games, 'Jump Start' stuff, I Spy, and on and on, that teach critical thinking skills you will *never* get in a console game while providing loads of entertainment. Then there are the Leap products tailored to this age group as well.

this is a good point but at the same time offering your child an interactive video game experience, specially like the wii where they are physically involved, as bit of entertainment is in my opinion a good thing. We pretty much don't allow any TV watching so we use the Wii as controlled entertainment. Also a great thing about the Wii experience is anyone can quickly pick it up so it allows everyone in my family play. So its a good family activity for us. Specially when grandparents come over and such.
"pushing" is probally too strong of a suggestion and a bit harsh. I don't think anyone here pushes games on their kids. My son loves playing Wii so we use it was reward or special occasion thing.
He also enjoys the PC options too, although we limit these too. My son in particular likes the Reader Rabbit series.
