I was thinking a lot about this, and there may be a post on it already (I'm really bad at finding past posts though I do search), but is there any way for users to see which games other users have? For instance, say I just want to go game hunting and look around for something that's not on my mind already...I'd love to have the ability to click on a user's name in the forums and see what games they currently have in their library and which ones are on their request lists. Many sites already have these types of features, and it seems that it'd be relatively easy to implement. Having this ability would make it easier for traders because they wouldn't need to keep seperate lists on external sites (IGN/CAG/GameTZ/etc.) if they're not regularly using those services and since the Goozex list automatically updates when you send out games and such, it'd make keeping them up to date a LOT easier.Just something I'd like to see in the future because it'd be fun to see what people are looking for and it'd give a sort of "Xbox Live" sort of feel to the site. Is this possible? Let me know :) Thanks!
Another great Idea Goomba. Id like to see this as well. Similar to what I use the Zune net for. I always run out of ideas for downloading music, so I browse other people's collections and find tons if great ideas.

A good idea-- add this to the running list of community features to investigate and implement.

Besides trading older games (which as we know can't be done with the whole muze system right now), this is probably the only real feature I think that Goozex is missing, or at least that it would benefit from HUGELY. I mean for instance I have nearly 10,000 points now burning a hole in my pocket...wouldn't it be cool for someone on the forums to say:"Hey Goomba check out my list of games available right now, many of them have no requests and they're ripe for the taking"...Along with the new *Ready feature (which by the way I ABSOLUTELY ADORE) this would be an amazing way to pick up games FAST that normally would be overlooked. Not to mention it'd be my main source of keeping track of my game collection :) I'm implementing my own personal list on an external site, but it'd be a lot more fun (and easier) for me if I could do all of this within Goozex. The more I use Goozex, the more I realize that there really is no other place like it. Why not further cement it as the best place to trade games by adding to the already amazingly-strong forum community?
While I think that this is a good idea in concept, there needs to improvements with the functionality and the ability to manipulate the database before it gets to a point where one would like their game collections here. The library and request lists are manageable as the system currently stands, but when we are speaking of extending one's video game collection here in the database...the database tools, ability to search, ability to organize and classify, all pale in comparison to the sites that you have mentioned that have their own collection databases.

I understand databases are tough (I'm putting one together for my university right now so I can relate) but there is no denying that it'd be a huge boost to the social aspects of Goozex. There's nothing against the rules about telling other people on the forums what you have in your lists though right? I just want to make sure I"m not violating any terms by doing so ^_^ Thanks for the commetns Lurk, especially since you know the back system a LOT more than we do.
That's correct, Goomba. You can link to your own web video game database in your sig without issue.
The idea is a good one, and we are working on some improvements on this side (to be announced with the new User Profiles due.... well.. hopefully soon!)
Another way that you can show your library/request to other members - and everyone else can - is to use the Goozex Flash Gaming Dashboard in the Toolbox section (see link in the footer).
You can post it in a forum thread or in your profile ( I believe it shour work) or in any other website. The widget will show your list of games requested/offered... and if used by most it could work as a great tool to "navigate" members' libraries!
Cool, I posted the flash widget in my Bio here and the only problem is al of the HTML script is visible as well as the widget itself. Is this how it is supposed to look or did I do something wrong?

I nearly forgot about that little tool :) I use it on my Facebook profile but I think very few of my friends actually use Goozex yet. Thanks for bringing that up ^_^ I'm going to go and add it to my bio now! I appreciate that :) That's a huge step in the right direction :)
You might want to clean up your sig a little bit. There is a lot of visible code.
Just thought I'd let you know shawn and others that you CAN put it into your BIO without all the extra html stuff showing up as long as you cut down part of the text that you paste in. I for one am using this<embed src="http://www.goozex.com/public/download/flash/goozexwidget_320x295.swf?username=goomba478&idtoken=7H45NETCJ5CPDWQMC3KFPEFJVN2NZTNC78655321833563513&sortingoption=" width="320" height="295" align="middle" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" />Simply copy this section from YOUR OWN WIDGET (don't use you mine obviously) and you should be good to go. If you have problems let me know. I think the problem stems from which code you're allowed to use in the forums/bio where some tags are allowed and others aren't. Just a heads up :) Maybe we can get more people doing this as I'd LOVE to see what people are offering up/requesting. Especially now that I am able to send out unlimited games and request up to 10 at a time. Can't wait till I get to the next level...
I just was experimenting to see how much of the code I could shave off. Sorry that you saw it in the process of cutting it down. It should appear very clean now :)
I would not recommed putting it in the signature (sorry if I wasn't clear). It may slow down the forum for all other users.
Instead, you can add it to your profile. See mine as an example.
The profile only supports the <embed>...</embed> part of the code...
I will prepare an extension to the dashboard code specifically for the forum profile, so maybe other users will start doing that as well.
