SPOILERS

I was happy that in Fantasy UFC I correctly guessed the outcome of all the fights... except 1. I'm sure anyone who has followed this thread recently knows which one. It took me until now to be composed enough to talk about it.

It's tough being upset about the fight when there's really nowhere to place the blame other than on Liddell. He lost because he messed up. He got too aggressive in round 2 and left himself open. Had he been more conservative he would have forced Rashad to come after him in round 3, and then had the advantage of being in a position to throw the counterstrikes he so loves to do.

SPOILERS STILL!

I believe that the mystery that was Chuck Lidell has been discovered. It took a while but his weakness has been exposed and perfected by Greg Jackson's camp. The key to victory against Chuck Lidell is to not attack him, but let him come to you. The absolute same strategy he used for years turns out to be his downfall. First done by Rampage Jackson (not apart of the camp, I will add), it was utilized by Keith Jardine and done with annoying precision by Rashad.

Rashad did nothing worth noting in the first round but dance around and throw playful jabs. It pissed Chuck off. At the threat of a possibly "boring" match, I believe Chuck went in because he thought he could out punch Rashad (well, we all did) and what happened is he fell victim to his own trap. I was furious that not only Rashad won, but he dropped Lidell in such a fashion that I'm sure we'll be stuck watching it in many replays to come down the road. Damnit.

Haha, I agree with everything you said, especially how we're going to be forced to watch that knockout clip over and over, for all eternity.  That realization came to me immediately afterward.

On an unrelated note; Too bad about Evan Tanner. He was a solid guy.

Already pumped for UFC 89.

I picked the winners as:

Michael Bisping. Luiz Cane, Akihiro Gono, Shane Carwin, Brandon Vera, Marcus Davis

What do you guys have to say?

Okay, now that Lesnar's the champ now, who's ready for the Mir-Noguiera fight?  Oh yeah, UFC is doing a show for the troops on Dec. 10th on Spike TV.  Set your TiVOs/DVRs!

I'd be lying if I didn't say I am happy that Lesnar beat Couture, even though I firmly believed he didn't deserve the shot he got. He's so big, powerful and athletic and I loved him in WWE. As Lesnar gets more experience in MMA, he is going to be extremely deadly. As it stands now though, I'm not sure if he can win against Mir or Noguiera. Mir now knows not to give Lesnar's strength a chance and would create a gameplan that would focus on wearing out Lesnar before going in for the kill (his cardio is surprisingly questionable after the Couture fight) and Noguiera's skill is way too many levels above Lesnars.

As for the Mir-Noguiera fight itself, I would love for Mir to win, he's a great fighter who I loved when he was on top of his game, but  he's not been the same since his motorcycle accident (though vastly improving as of late) and Noguiera is an absolute machine. Noguiera takes the worst beatings you've ever seen and somehow manages to come out on top. I'm not sure if Mir can beat him. It makes for a very exciting fight for me.

I was really pulling for Couture, only because I find it unfavorable for a man to win because of size more than skill, which can be a problem with the HW division. I think that Big Nog would most definitely beat Brock, only because he has proven to be un-finishable, and it seems unlikely that Brock could go 25 minutes with Nog without getting submitted. I would say something similar about Mir, but Mir doesn't have the greatest chin, plus his cardio has been absolutely atrocious at times. I think Nog will easily defeat Mir (I hope I don't have to eat my words), due to superior everything. I can't think of anything Mir has on Nog.

Man, I know what you mean about Minotauro.  I saw the fight he had with Bob Sapp.  He took a beating from him, and then submitted him with an armbar!  Simply incredible.

As for fights in which Nogueira fought people with skill (AKA not Sapp), his fight against Mirko Cro Cop is amazing. Takes an absolute beating, including a square head kick from Cro Cop, which typically means death. He comes back and armbars Cro Cop from his back. Unbelievable.
