So, I busted out my trusty Dreamcasts & Samba de Amigo games this weekend (I have the US one & ver 2000). I love those games. Who else here is a fan? I need some more people to play against!

I'm a fan, but a friend busted my official Sega 1st party controllers...so I'm on the hunt.

That is tragic. How did it happen?

I've narrowed it down to two different idiots and separate events.  One was when dummy #1 would nervously bang the maracas on a table as if they were drumsticks.  He's got anxiety issues.  The second instance were when the maracas were swung around dummy #2's head and then thrown at dummy #1's legs as he was running away.  I forget what that weapon is called.  Maybe a bolla or volla, but that doesn't sound right.

Bolo. Dummys #1 and 2 should be soundly beaten with the broken controllers. Stick out tongue

Thank you, sir.  Care to join me in tracking down these idiots.  If I were still in college, I would simply walk down the hall...but now that I didn't realize the extent of the damage until I recently unearthed my Dreamcast stuff that had been carefully stored away...I'll just have to mark this up to college sophomoric behavior and karma for some of my own drunken college recklessness.

"bolo" is a type of tie. "bola" is the weapon. :-)

I rescind my thanks to timpy, and I offer you my most appreciated thanks.  I hope that you don't mind the sloppy seconds.

I frequently use my bolo as a stealth garrote method.

Ok, I can't back that up. Nice catch, ally. Big Smile

I presume that you are talking about Space Channel 5.  Yes, back when Sega used to take chances on games and when they could care less about a game actually commercially selling...instead of what Sega has sadly become.

I know. You know, I think the Dreamcast has my favorite overall library. There are so many games I had a good time with-from Typing of the Dead to Ooga Booga to PenPen Tricelon. I loved them all.

Sega and the Dreamcast were great....but looking back, so many of their games were so whacked out.  How in their right mind could they ever think that they would be a popular commercial success?  I think about all of the great games that really pushed the artistic envelope, and they were the art house of the gaming world for sometime.  Yes, there were the standbys of the great sports games...but Sega really brought about a memorable era, one that continues to touch many of our hearts.  I couldn't stand the wire that runs off the controller and down our crotch though.

haha! my friends used to joke that someone designed the dreamcast just for me-that I was the only one out there buying all of those whacked out games. maybe you're right, a lot of them were certainly left of center. but so inspired! so few games match that level of creativity these days it seems...

I feel you, man. I've only seen them doing Hulk/Iron Man and SOnic. Oh yeah, and Samba Wii! I won't need it though, since the game and Marracas should be here soon!
