Well, Black Friday has pretty much come and gone.
Interested to see what everyone was picking up today, if you, like me, mapped out your early morning route to snag deals or hard to find items.
I started with a 5 am trip to Walmart...so packed I had to park in the FIRE LANE....however, slowly I made my way through the herd of shoppers to snag Rock Band Special Edition for the XBox 360. Nothing like buying your own X-Mas gift! Was surprised...the Scarborough, Maine Walmart had over 20 available.
I then boogied over to Best Buy to get the Nintendo DS -Zelda Bundle for my 2 boys (4 and 6 years old). No luck....bundle sold out, mainly because they had the best deal...get Over the Hedge and Starter Kit free with it.
So I headed over to Toys R Us, again parking in the FIRE LANE due to no parking anywhere....found my way to the gaming section where they had TONS of the Nintendo DS bundles. Grabbed the gold Zelda version....and a Mario lunchbox starter kit for half off and got out of there. Not before saving $25 off the entire thing, with my gift card I got earlier in the week buying Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii (another Xmas gift for the boys).
Lastly, I hit Circuit City and grabbed a couple $10 DS games for the youngins'......Cooking Mama and Super Monkey Ball.
All in all, I'm pretty psyched to get all this by 6:30 am today. My wife is laughing cuz I'll end up enjoying these gifts as much as they will! Meanwhile Rockband sits in my closet until Xmas morning....that will kill me each day!
Anyway, enough about my morning, how did you all do?
I really saw nothing i wanted, I still am debating if i want EQ: Quake Wars for 20 bucks on gogamer.com
Or if i should buy it on steam for 40 bucks.
So if you can help me within an hour or so, that'd be nice.
With the help of cheapassgamer.com, (they should pay me for these plugs ) I managed to get Madden 07 for PS3 for FREE at Best Buy (I used a $10 off any PS3 game, and Madden 07 was $9.99). I also picked up the "last" Wii Zapper to surprise my girlfriend. I'm sure they probably had more in the back and only one on display, but I bit anyways. I also managed to snag another Wii at 2am on amazon.com. Hopefully I can make a few bucks selling it.
I got Guild Wars, 300 2 disc special edition dvd, Katamari Damacy, and a squeaky tennis ball for my dog with the $27 I had in Amazon gift card money.
I would've liked to have gotten Bioshock and Half Life 2 Orange Box for $25 each with the Best Buy sale but I'm too low on cash since I got my gifts before the holiday rush.
I hit up Best Buy and picked up GR:AW2 and Stuntman (both for the $360) for $20 each. Both were picked up just to trade here on Goozex for the points. Aside from that my Black Friday was pretty much a bust. I was hunting down some laptop memory but every place was sold out around here. I did pick up a 2GB compact flash card for $15 and Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 1 DVD for $17.
I had planned to camp out outside of Best Buy, but when my friend and I arrived at midnight the line was already stretching around to the back of the building. We hung out for a while, but due to the way the line was forming we were getting passed up by people who were behind us (even tho the line wasn't moving). It's tough to explain what was happening, but it was frustrating so we decided to just call it quits and come back in the morning.
The dude who was first in line was there from 5am Thursday morning. There would have to be one helluva a deal for me to skip out on Thanksgiving dinner.
This was also very amusing, there was an enourmas wall by the registers made up of PS3s. Seriously, there must've been 500 of them stacked up.

I was pretty disappointed with this year's Black Friday offerings all around. All year long I had planned on upgrading my current 50" Toshiba HD Theater View 720p projection with something 1080p LCD or Plasma in a similar size on Black Friday. After scouring BFads.net for weeks, the only thing I found that in that range that was desirable was the 46" and 52" Aquos at Circuit City... but alas, the closest CC to me is about two hours away in the Twin Cities. Guess I'll just hold off until next year on that.
I crawled out of bed at about 8 this morning and hit the Shopko a block away from me and picked up a few TV seasons on DVD. As I was checking out at the media department cash register I saw a Rock Band bundle for 360 just hanging out on the shelf so I grabbed that too. I was pretty surprised to see it there, considering how fast retailers sold out around here on launch day and the fact that Shopko had been open for over 3 hours when I finally walked in.

I bought myself a shiny new TV! I got a 40in 1080p Sony Bravia for $1299 at the Home Theatre Store only to find out on Saturday that Fry's Electronics had the exact same model for $1199. Luckily I got a price match :D Once I get the mess cleaned up I'll update my Goozex Lair pics.
Searching for a good TV is AWFUL. I am limited to size and all the larger models have MUCH better prices than the 37-42in 1080p sets. I was at Fry's Electronics at 5am and saw tons and tons and tons of people carting around 50in Samsung TVs for cheaper than what mine was :\
I also had my friend pick up a copy of Super Mario Galaxy at Circuit City for $35 hurrah!
That's about all I got gaming wise.
Tengaport: I hit up Best Buy and picked up GR:AW2 and Stuntman (both for the $360) for $20 each. Both were picked up just to trade here on Goozex for the points.

I appreciate that. I have been waiting for Stuntman for awhile now and there was no way I was going to fight the crowds for it.
Tony Hawk's Proving Grounds was only 25 bucks on gogamer.com THANKS CheapyD!!! couldn't resist getting it for my little brother.

No problem Seb, you've got a brand-spankin new, sealed copy heading you way :)
I had already gotten a copy from Goozex for myself, otherwise it would've been a keeper.
Just ordered Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas Limited Edition from Amazon for $20 :)
I guess you can add that to the Black Friday haul as well.

Nice... thanks for the heads up. I just went and picked that up too. Then while looking for something to bump me up over $25 for my free 2-day Amazon Prime shipping I found the Halo 3 Legendary Edition there for $79.99.
Yeah, saw that too - crazy deal. I added a $8 PSP charger stand to my order to bump it up over $25.
