I just used PayPal shipping for the first time today, went pretty smoothly. Nice links on the 'transaction details' page.
When I get DC at the PO, the PO worker grabs the sticker, slaps it on, writes the ZIP code on the other half and hands it to me. Do you fill out the whole address?

I didn't go to the post office, I printed the shipping label at paypal and dropped the package in my mailbox. I did get a code when I printed the label, can I use this code to get the delivery confirmation from the USPS website?

You should be able to - but it depends on whether they scan it if you will see updates.

So If I do the media mail thing for USPS, can I just drop my package off in any USPS drop box?

Yes, using the PayPal shipping label, you can drop it in any drop box. You might want to compare the 1st class rate too though. I usually find it to be cheaper than media rate, for some reason.

That is some really great information, rictor. Using your advice I have already purchased a box of bubble mailers from eBay (50 for $14.20), and I plan on paying for shipping using the Paypal method as well. I took a look at the link you gave, and I just had one question about it.
For someone like me who does not have a good shipping scale, what weight do you guys normally put down? Using this junky scale I found in the kitchen, I estimated that a game and a bubble mailer would be around 4 ounces. Would you guys put down 4, or would you take the safer route and put the weight down as 5 ounces? Have any of you ever underpaid and had the package returned to you due to a weight that was higher than what you paid for?
This might seem somewhat unimportant, but I just want to avoid any chance of the shipment not going through correctly. I'm also asking because they don't let you be more precise than single digit whole numbers. Any help with this would be awesome.
SPJglitches, I think your best bet for your scale would be to find something that weighs an exact amount and check your scale accordingly.
Deli meat is typically a safe bet as far as weight is concerned, its what I used!
After nearly 10 years of shipping on eBay (I use a postage scale and recommend you get one if you can, they're not expensive at all...I can recommend a great seller to you) here is my estimate:Game only (disc or cartridge, GBA/DS/etc.) + Bubble Mailer = 2-3 ouncesGame + Case only (DVD style box) + Bubble Mailer = 3-4Complete Package + Bubble Mailer = 5-8 ounces (depends on how thick the manual is and if the game has more than one disc.)for complete games about 90% of mine are 6-7 ounces so if you want to err on the side of caution pay 7 ounces for complete games. Or just go to the post office and ask them to weigh it for you, though that defeats the purpose obviously of Paypal shipping and such. Like I said, I highly recommend the scale route ^_^
normally, my 360 and wii games are in the 6-7 oz range. 1st class is always cheaper than media mail for me.
reuse the mailers that you get from games received to save "the planet" ;)
shipping to canada using 1st class isn't available and I have to use stamps and is so much cheaper then priority.
sorry if this has been stated before.

Reusing something you would normally throw away, a great way to actually recycle! Plus you'll find its a bit easier on your wallet as well...
Actually Spooon, sorry to correct you but I ship International First Class to Canada almost every week actually. All you need is a small customs form (PS Form 2976) available for free at the post office. This is the form that is green on the left and white on the right...you just put the item's information, the value of the item you're sending and weight/approximate weight and that's it. I usually do bring these into the Post Office in person, but there's no need to use physical stamps unless you really like to. You can also use Paypal shipping for international mail if you do it right :) I ship even game systems using this method ^_^Good luck everyone!
Has anyone used this method within Canada? (Sending from a Canadian address to another Canadian address).
I just got matched with my first trade, and need to figure out how I should ship the game to the requester. So just print off the label I print out from PayPal and drop it into a Canada Post box?
Goomba, please elaborate how to do ship it to Canada using Paypal. Thank you :)
