Thanks to some great community members, some of are able to enjoy the newly released LBP beta. I was curious of what some other peoples thoughts are on the game.
Personally, Sony should have made it a priority to get this game on the store shelves a long time ago. This is the PS3 system seller! IMO. If I didnt already have PS3, Id buy one just for this game.

For President!
I'm with you 100% there. I'm most impressed with what the users have come up with and created with only the beta. It makes me excited to see what can be done after people have had a few months with the complete build of the game.
I was up till 3am last night playing. From what Ive seen, this is the best the PS3 has to offer, and that is in no way a knock on the system
Good times PSWii. We spent what, 1.5+ hours on that level? Freaken dragon. I have to say, I was skeptical about this game when I first heard of it. Then with iwx hunting down the LBP beta like a mofo, I looked it up again. Thanks to iwx, I had hands on experience with the game.
I have to say, it is fricken amazing. It is definitely a great party/social game. I'm working on my own level at the moment and it's ridiculously difficult. By far, this game is fun, challenging, and frustrating. I'm surprirsed at some of the user's created levels and embarassed that I played some others. Will share with you guys if I ever finish mine.
I think...when I get this game, I'm not gonna have time to worry about the rest of the Fall games coming out.

FINALLY my purchase of a PS3 is justified

My impressions are mixed. At first I was completely in awe -- the game is charming and oozes personality. After about two hours of playtime, I was bored though. It took me a while to realize why.
If you are into level creation or just user-creation tools in general, it's the second coming. As a platformer though I feel like too much weight is placed on charm and physics, making the feel very "loose". The controls especially don't help, with everything so floaty.
The craftsmanship of the game shines through, and I think many many people will love it to death. Perhaps I just need to see the finished product to see how the later levels work. The beta gives you three retail levels, and while interesting, I didn't find them all that fun.
Your mileage may vary.

Yeah I could see it getting boring if all you do is play by yourself, but its more of a community based platformer. I have a blast running through levels with fellow gamers.

I enjoy slapping other players in the face
