I was wondering if anyone else has had these problems before with their wii. The first one is that I started up my wii, and it said that the system files were corrupt. I powered it off, and it seemed to be fine. I don't know what happened. The other thing was very weird. I was playing wii sports, and when I went back to the wii menu, it thought that there was a gamecube game in the wii. Have any of you ever had these troubles?

I think I had the last one once. Like any piece of equipment. It sometimes has hiccups. As long as it isn't frequent enogh to become a problem it's no big deal.

As for real Wii problems. I was one of the lucky 10% or so of people who got a launch unit with a defective heat sink. Fried the video card after a year of use.

Alright, thanks. I was making sure that I was not the only one that has had that happen to them. I'm going to back up all my save files just to make sure I don't lose them.

Always a good policy... thank you for reminding me to do it for my computer Tongue Tied

I have a launch Wii and have never (knock on wood) had any major problems with it. I once got the good ol' GameCube-like screen freeze and buzz on a Brawl load, and one time the thing just wouldn't load something (I think it was a VC game, kind of scary black screen that necessitated a hard shutdown since the remote went dead). I'd say overall the thing has been as good to me as your standard DVD player; once in a while a hiccup but very solid overall.

Nintendo is known for making durable products. You practically had to try to break an original gameboy, and even then it was a challenge.

I have a release-date Wii, and it doesn't have any major problems. As I discussed in another thread I made a while back, it does have (at times) violent noises when it reads discs, but they're usually pretty normal sounding (I say normal because they're usually just like the ones my friend's Wii makes and it just came back from Nintendo repair).

Although I've had to do hard resets due to freezing numerous times...it's not overly frequent, but they're been several cases, usually right after I've reset the Wii. Lately it's happened twice when I try to play a Gamecube game and it gets frozen at the Game Channel.
