I searched for this but couldn't find anything about it... maybe my search was too narrow.
I know this would only happen in rare circumstances, but why not allow trading of more than one copy of the same game?
For example, I have two copies of FFIX, but can only post one and wait, then repost the next when I finally get through trading the first. I know its rare for someone to have multiple copies of the same game, but especially with a title that is demanded more than offered it doesn't seem impractical.
This is not a rhetorical question, I'm genuinely looking for thoughts or comments - why not do this?I'm guessing there might be a potential for abuse... but I don't really see one. I'm guessing the only reason is that it is too infrequent of an occurance for this addition to be worth the site creators time.
By allowing multiple listing of one game from one seller creates the following scam:
Scammer trades several games to gain good feedback. The feedback is now +20 and allows points to be automatically deposited into the scammer's account instead of waiting for feedback. The scammer goes and lists mulitple copies of one game (most likely a heavily traded title) back to back. When the time comes, he/she is matched continuously with buyers. Now he/she is dominating the market and accumulating points for games he/she will not be sending out. Then so called scammer goes and uses those automatic deposited points and requests games that he/she could get within 21 days.
Of course the trade account will be shut down, but the damage is done. So, you are thinking, that's only one person. But what if you had many scammers pulling this stint. There goes Goozex and all that we love.
Cheers ^__^

As mentioned, this would be a great scamming opportunity. Sadly that limits the trading possibilities for folks like us who have multiples of the same game. I have two full copies of No One Lives Forever for the Mac but can only list one ... but since that has sat for such a long time I guess it doesn't matter.

Also, it potentially gives others an unfair advantage that may have certain connections or those that find a particularly good deal
All good points.
Also it could allow dealers to use the site to their advantage and not Joe Gamer.
