How can this not be traded? It runs through Steam like other work through GFWL. I saw that titles from the Orange Box are sold seperatly. Its a great game(played a copy at my friends) and I'd love to own it.
By nature of the game, it can't be traded. Once activated, it's tied to a Steam account. To prevent issues that HAVE arisen in the past with people sending CD-Keys already tied to a Steam account, it's no longe tradable.
Does this apply to the other Valve titles like Half Life 2, Portal, or Team Fortress 2?
Yes, it does. Half-Life 2 is already disabled. It seems TF2 and Portal were overlooked, but I'll be sure to bring it to the attention of someone on the G-Team to get it rectified. Good catch!

Ok. That clears it up for me. I dont know if all of Valves games do this, but it sucks if they do. I actually have to pay retail!
It does suck that you can't trade it, but what a great pack of games! It's worth buying!
It is very unfortunate - especially how it also infects other non-Valve games like Dark Messiah ... I love Steam, but hate the non-trade aspect.
