Well, I've been wanting to buy trade credits and points, but the thing is that I don't need 5 credits, I would only need 2. My friend needs 1 and I was wondering if there is any way I can possibly give the left-over credits to her account.
You cannot gift trade credits amongst friends, and I’m sure it’s mostly due to how easy it would be for scammers to abuse a feature like that.
Oh, ok. Thank you, I see how that can be used to abuse the system. I didn't notice.
I'm failing to see how that would be abused. If you buy the trade credits, I feel that it is your choice to do whatever you want to do with them. This topic came up in the chatroom a couple of weeks ago and we couldn't even find a way that anyone could abuse a gifting system.

Yeah, I think I have a solution to that problem. I think it's because someone can have a friend or some how get a another account, so they can transfer credits to their original account. A solution would be having the credits and points be called "Free Trade Credits" or "Free Points" and have them programmed to not be given to an account.
If you could gift trade credits, it would also enable them to be used as currency in direct trades outside the system. "Gifting" someone 20 trade credits in return for a 400 point game would be possible and is against the rules and the spirit of Goozex.

Good point tainted, I didn't think of that.

People could also create dummy accounts and gift their free trade credit to their real account. There are many ways to abuse it, so it is better left out.

Yeah I remember one guy from MN or WI who set up somewhere around 30 accounts for himself.
dtp11:Ummm okay, that's a little far-fetched tainted... I'm sure there's another reason why trade credits couldn't be gifted, but that one doesn't really seem like a satisfying reason why not to allow them. No one would ever really use them as currency.
Well, consider this then. If I can think of a way to use a gifting feature to get around paying $1 for a trade, then someone with lots of time on their hands and the drive to actually find a better way to abuse the system will figure out an even better way to abuse it. This has been proven time and time again in countless ways throughout the history of modern commerce. If there is any way to abuse the system, it will be abused.
