Ok, for those of you who have the game, what do you think, I have hear a lot of mixed reviews and I'm not sure if i like the game myself. Don't get me wrong, the game has been made well and it looks spectacular for a city sim.

The thing about SimCity I enjoyed is the massiveness about it. I like having a city of a million people, where 50,000 people is reaching its max.

On the other hand, the genre need a kick in the butt to make some variety in the game. The societies and their different buildings, needs and jobs takes the game we all loved and gave it a twist, but after playing the game for a few hours, it seems the game took the elements already introduced by the competitor game City Life. SimCity Societies had a veriety of different people where as City Life had different classes of people. Very much the same, each having their own needs and buildings.

I'm going to give the game a few more hours of play just to feel the game our more before i actually make a full decision on my opinion.

Well, after trading for City Life and play for a bit, I can say that I like SimCity Societies better.  I agree that the game looks great and it is made well (I haven't found any bugs or any annoying glitches, yet).  Yes, you are right in the comparison between the two, but I found City Life to be much more complicated in terms of its interface and learning curve.  I think SimCity Societies has enough variety, but it may lack in the challenges it present.  If you like open sandbox types of builders with less strategy and micro-management, then SimCity Societies may appeal to you.

Yes the learning curve is a bit less, which is good, but I just don't have any want or drive to play the game because i like the micromanagement in the other simcity games. All in all its a very well polished game with great game play, but i think that hardcore Simcity fans are going to be disappointed. Strictly just my opinion of course.

I think I agree with you on that splitterside.  I do enjoy the game, probably because I just like to build and watch.  Micromanagement prevents me from really seeing what's going on all the time.  I guess a balance of the two would be perfect, but it seems that both games (City Life & SimCity Societies) are extremes in either direction.
