in the holiday issue of EGM that I just got in the mail yesterday they had a small article that had little mini reviews and ranked a few game trading sites
Goozex was #1!
Yup, I noticed that too. They were ranked #1, but the little blurb didn't really sell it as much as I thought that it would. Anyhow, the mention should drive more people here.

Fantastic! Grats to the Goozex team!

The Goozex team is very excited about being in the EGM Holiday Issue. I think first it validates you all trading games here! I know that a lot of gamer writers and editors have Goozex accounts and so they must have traded with you to have that great Goozex experience.
I also think it is great to see GameTZ finally receive some big press after 10 years of service -- and even better yet...we support and compliment each other well!
For those of you curious here is what was said about Goozex and GameTZ:
Goozex
"Goozex's point system ranges from 100 points for clunkers like Aero Wings up to 1,000 for new stuff like Blue Dragon (you can buy points for about a nickel apiece). The big user base means a wide selection for recent systems, but you're SOL for anything before the Game Boy Advance. Also, new members can only have two trades going at a time until they build a good rating." Overall Rating 3 out of 4.
GameTZ
"Growing out of a mid-'90s Usenet community, Game Trading Zone still resembles a message board more than a formal game-trading site. Instead of a point system, you have to propose direct trades of money/games with other users. There's no buyer protection either -- members are on their honor to deal fairly. but the legwork and risk are worth it: Support for all sorts of classic systems and a community of over 4,000 members means you're sure to find someone with the game you want or who wants the game you're sick of." Overall 3 out of 4.

You guys definitely deserve a 4 out of 4 in my book, but I guess a 3/4 is fair since you're always doing things to improve the site and so forth. I guess it's similar to giving a game a 10/10 ... most reviewers would rather give it a 9/10 or a 9.5/10 to say that the game is wonderful but not entirely perfect. Also, the review isn't entirely accurate seeing as they say you're "SOL for anything before the Gameboy Advance" because we all know very well that many PC games, Dreamcast, Playstation Games and even many Playstation 2 games were released before 2001 (when the GBA was released). I demand a recount ^_~

Yeah I saw the article when I was reading through the latest issue of EGM. Doesnt suprise me that Goozex is on top. Its because of the point system, which is why I trade here. The point system holds the value of games you trade, plain and simple.
Anyway, Congratz to all of the Goozex Team Memebers. I am glad to see that this site is getting some free promotion. Since we all know more people = more games circulating.

I've been telling everyone I can about the site. I even put up a bulletin on my Myspace page.
Yeah , i read it and they really did underplay the site.
Some people still have problems with trades being a dollar?
Did they contact you and say anything about it?
Congratulations. I'll read it when my issue comes :)
--- Edit ---Did not notice this was an old post. Does anyone know what page it's located on?
