I'm sorry Philly fans and Red Sox Nation and the 3 Diamondback fans there are...but your guy is not a HOFer. He is the Robert Horry of the MLB.
What surprises me even more than the fact that there is a debate over Curt Schilling is that Mike Mussina might...might be a HOFer. It is so funny how history would be different if Mike Mussina had chosen Boston over New York, as we all thought that he would do so many years ago. He presumably went to New York to win a championship and also win 20 games, but I don't think that he has accomplished either...while the Red Sox have won in that same time. The Yanks have lost to the Marlins and D-Backs in the Mussina era, thus far, right? Anyhow, think about that Mike Mussina a HOFer.

I agree with taintedzodiac (not just because Im a Sox fan). Schilling is a HOF, he wont be a first ballot HOF, but he will surely get in.
If baseball lore were enough, then Roger Maris would be in. And so would Kirk Gibson. I'm pretty confident that Kirk Gibson isn't in.
Anyhow, I'm still of the opinion that the bloody sock is a typical Curt Schilling creation. And though I am a Yankee-hater, I don't know why the "genius" Joe Torre never made Curt test that ankle, by dropping bunts.
Lurk, this is the first time I've ever said this, but...
you're wrong.

First I disagree with lurk, Schilling is a HOFer. Second, as an Oriole fan Mussina is NOT a HOFer. The difference between the two: Mussina always pitched just well enough to lose a big game, while Schilling pitched just well enough to win a big game.
Curt is definitely NOT a HOFer. He doesn't even have 250 career wins! He may have the leagacy of the bloody sock and the World Series championships but to get into the baseball hall of fame you have to have the numbers and Curt's just don't stack up. Curt really isn't even one of the elite pitchers of his era. He's a great pitcher that people will probably always remember but he's not a HOFer.

So you agree with me, Bioshock should remain unplayed and remain in plastic.

Yes, the Postseason does matter to an extent but not to the extent of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It's all about the numbers. Reasons why Curt won't make it....216 wins. He wasn't even the top 12 of pitchers in his era. No Cy Youngs. And above all, he was and is a major *** to those that will be voting him in. If Jim Rice doesn't get in (with better numbers), there is no way Curt will get the votes. Curt Schilling is essentially Orel Hershiser, and Orel isn't in...nor will he. They have similar hardware and moments. Don't let Red Sox Nation fool you, as they think we should retire Tony C's number.
Mike Mussina's case for the HOF. 260 wins, with a possibility to hit 300. That's within reach if he wants hit, though I think he is done. 6 time Gold Glover. Major innings eater. And consistently a better pitcher during the same years as the majority of Schilling's career, outside of the Manny Alexander Red Soxs.

Schilling in less career starts had more complete games, had a lower WHIP, lower ERA, and more strikeouts. Also remember for the first 3 or 4 years of Schilling's career he was mainly a reliever. The big difference is in postseason numbers. Schilling is 11-2 with a 2.23 ERA and a ridiculous 0.969 WHIP. Mussina is 7-8 with a 3.42 ERA and a 1.100 WHIP. Schilling is post-season excellence. Mussina, as mentioned before, pitched just well enough to lose a lot of postseason games. In other words, he very rarely was the reason they won, unlike Schilling. Also Mussina has never won 20 games! I have no problem if neither get in to be honest, but if Mussina gets in Schilling better too.
I have actually seen both in person (Schilling once with the Phils and Mussina like 10 times) and neither should get in. Mussina has been consistantly mediocre (never a losing season, but never great) but has had more consecutive 10 win seasons (17) than any other pitcher. Schilling has been pretty good but is dragging along in later years (I call this the Don Mattingly effect on HoF voting) I think schilling will also be hurt by relationship with the media. He an avid gamer however. (Someone should send him stuff about Goozex)
