I am fairly new here, and have done a few trades. I am kinda upset now, that I need to BUY trade credits. It takes away from the no money system. I thinkn you should be able to pay a set amount of points to buy a trade credit or a pack of them.

Who said this was a no money system?  Communist, eh?

No. Not at all. I am fine paying money, heck I spend 90% of my money on gaming. Tell ya the truth I thought this site was like all of the others "Do a survey and give us your credit card and get whatever you want" crap. It would be cool and seem much better to have an optional no monmey needed system, like trading maybe 200-300 per trade credit.

Unfortunately, servers and bandwidth don't pay for themselves. And not to burst your bubble or anything, but if you plan on shipping any games out you're going to have to pay for the postage on them as well. It may not be free, but it's still a much better deal than you can get anywhere else.

This is not such a bad idea to allow points to credits. As far as paying for bandwidth those points were paid for at some point and maybe Goozex could take a small commission (say 50 points) for each conversion.   It might remove some of the excess points floating out there and facilitate more trades.  The only concern I see is the potential for fraud since having to buy trade credits means you have to have a credit card and is thus harder to set  up fake accounts.  Maybe require the convertor to have a valid credit card on file.

Points have no real world value.  And plus, the guys who run this site are entrepreneurs, they're interested in making money providing this service to us!

Personally, I don't have a problem shelling out 5 bucks for 5 trades.

Do an online survey or somethin'!  I know that online surveys have paid for my credits in the past.

Personally, I feel $1 for a trade is amazingly fair compared to the other available options for aquiring video games that exist today.

We don't even have to get into the argument that deflating the gross number of points decreases the 'grease' with which trades can be made, which I wouldn't dare argue, as I don't have the MBA to back me up.

I don't think that removing points is a bad thing..less points chasing games means less inflationary issues with game values.

I don't have a problem paying a $1 trade (I have received 230 games so I have paid my fair share) and I don't think this discussion needs to be about "supporting" Goozex and letting them make money.  I don't think anyone has a problem paying for trades but some folks might like another way to spend their points.

More ways to use your points raises their virtual value and might draw in and retain more users.  Part of the problem with redeeming points though is the large amount of free points that have released into the system by the company.  If ALL the points had been bought than this would be more viable while still allowing Goozex to make some money.  By the same token free trade credits don't cost Goozex any real money either. In the end, Goozex can choose to run their business however they please but I don't think exploring ideas is a bad thing.
