Kameo? Elder Scrolls IV? or Dead Rising? I'm heavily leaning towards Dead Rising, but how long is this game? Also, what are the differences between the game of the year edition and regular edition of Elder Scrolls? Am I missing much if I go with the regular Oblivion? And why is there 3 different names for Elder Scrolls IV? Someone, please break it down, thanks.

Dead Rising can take you about 8 hours or so to beat, if you just stick to the main story and dont do side missions. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a great bang for your buck. I had over 200 hours put into it and just got done with it before I sent it to its new ower. GOTY edition is well worth the 900 points. You get the game plus the 3,200 Microsoft Point Downloadable Content with it, Knights of the Nine (800 MS Points) and Shivering Isles (2,400) which is about $40. So Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is my recomendation.

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Xbox 360 Game List Goozex

3 of the listings, 450/500/900, are the full games. The other 2, 150/500, are the Downloadable Content that would come with the GOTY Edition of Oblivion, the 900 point one. The 500 Point version is the Collector's Edition which has:  This collector's edition of the RPG epic features a bonus DVD featuring a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Oblivion, plus concept art, and renders, screenshots, and other extra features. Also featured is a Septims replica coin, and a 112 page "Pocket Guide to the Empire" featuring historical information, important figure profiles, and other realistically rendered details about the The Elder Scrolls saga.

So it is up to you to make a choice, Dead Rising is a quick get due to ALOT of people have it for trade. Oblivion is a great game all around and has alot of things to do in it.

I only have 500 points so I couldn't get the game of the year edition, is it that much of a drop off from the regular edition to the game of the year? Should I just wait to get the GOTY edition later on? What about Viva Pinata? I don't have a good read on that game because I've never really played a simulation game before, that's only 350 points I think. Let me know your thoughts.

Viva Pinata you can download the Demo off the Marketplace and that shows you what you will be getting yourself into if you deside to get it. All the GOTY Edition does is add new side quests and about 30-40 Hours of MAIN QUEST for the Shivering Isles, that does not include the side questes, from viewing the making of Shivering Isles it is said to add about 100 hours if you do all of the Main/Side Quests. It also give it access to new weapons/items, ingredients (huge help if you want to become an alchemist. I would add GOTY Edition to your Requests and have it active, or if you want to spend real money, I know shame on me, it is well worth the money and it can be trade back quite quickly.

Keep in mind one thing. Dead Rising is maddengly difficult.

Dead Rising has an acquired taste.

As for Oblivion, you could get the Limited edition one, then when you get enough points, put the Shivering Isles expansion disk in your requests (500 points), which includes Shivering Isles and Nights of the Nine. You'd spend 100 points more than getting the GOTY edition, but you get the cool little booklet and bonus disk, which is pretty cool. (I got the limited edition, then bought the shivering isles disk for $20 using a gamestop coupon, provided by Duddy, thank you very much, downloaded shivering isles and nights onto my Xbox, then put it on the Gooze)

Would it be a mistake to play Elder Scrolls Oblivion without the two expansions?

Nope not at all. All it does is adds a new "World", Shivering Isles,  and a new side quest, Knights of the Nine. Now if you know someone who has GOTY Edition just borrow Disk 2 from them and instill it to your HDD. That way you get both expansions for free. ^__^

I was about to order Elder Scrolls 4 but I made a deal with a dude off Craigslist to get Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion and The Condemned for only $15. That's awesome.

That is awesome.  Condemned was a really fun game and Oblivion is great.

I'm going to get Dead Rising soon. I'm kind of nervous, I've heard a lot of mixed reviews - but bashing zombies should be fun anyhow.

I liked Dead Rising with the demo but I can see how it can get boring. It's a short game, only 6-8 hours, I'll pick it up when it comes down in points.
