The minimum condition I am willing to accept my games is:

This option should be added:

Disc + Case + Cover Art "If full package is not available, I accept the original disc,  original case (not generic) and covert art / case jacket option (no manual)"
Full Package
"I only accept the full original package, with the case, manuals and all accessories"
Disc + Manual
"If full package is not available, I accept the original disc and manual option"
Disc Only
"If neither the full package or the manual is available, I accept the original disc-only option"

Sorry if someone has already suggested this - I couldn't find a post on it.

Sounds like it would be easy enough to add to the site.  It may even speed up some trading for people that don't care about the manual but don't want disc only.  I think it's a good idea.

This has been suggested several times before. If you search for it you could certainly find it in the suggestions forum somewhere. The reason I say to search is because someone had laid out the specific reason this isn't happening at this time. It has something to do with the fact that it will make game trades slower. Right now there are 3 rungs on the ladder add another one and will be it be higher, lower, or equal to disc + manual? If someone asks for disc + manual is disc + case exceptable? These are the kind of questions that can complicate the things. For now, just list them as disc only. I have sent out many games I had lost the manual for as disc only.

What about these options....

1) disc and cover art only.

2) manual and case only.

3) disc #2 only.

4) supplemental materials only.

5) Full Package but with photocopied manual.

Well maybe someday they'll be able to figure out how to implement it without it screwing things up!  I think there are more options that could complicate things like lurknomore suggested (not sure if he was being sarcastic or not) but I think that those 4 I suggested would be perfect.  I think the majority of people would rather have the case - especially for PS3 and PSP games because their cases aren't easily replaceable - rather than the manual.  You use the case of a game ALL the time and I barely ever use the manual.  The only thing a manual is good for is resale value pretty much.  That or people who can't figure out video games on their own, don't know how to use the internet, or game collectors who just aren't satisfied unless the game has it's original contents, or people who don't know that a lot of games have in-game tutorials that cover what's in the manual anyway.  I think that printing your own covers and buying a case is too time consuming and just isn't the same as having the original cover art / case jacket.

My brother in law's last name is Lurk and he's not very serious!

I'm not even sure what I mean by that comment

Or do they?  No, seriously, Lurk is a great guy.

Or is he?

Don't know if I'm getting the questions right, but yes, definitely a guy...but a great guy, that's questionable at best.

I thought of one other plausible option for the matrix:

PC DVD-rom game, that is labeled by Muze as a CD-rom disc, in a Dreamcast jewel case with PSone cover art and a Nintendo epilepsy warning insert but no manual.

Until someone can answer how you can do one linear chart (i.e. each option is favorable to every other option below it on the list in ALL situations) with those four options, it's never going to happen. There is just no way you can say "Anyone who requests Disc+Manual would be fine with receiving Disc+Case+Art" or vice versa.

Will there be an option if I have the manual?  Or do I list it as PC DVD-rom game, that is labeled by Muze as a CD-rom disc, in a Dreamcast jewel case with PSone cover art and a Nintendo epilepsy warning insert but no manual and include the manual and the person receiving it will be surprised because they got the manual?

No, but I am sure if you PM the buyer about it, they will take it.

There is just no way you can say "Anyone who requests Disc+Manual would be fine with receiving Disc+Case+Art" or vice versa.

So why not instead of adding "Disc+Case+Art" ahead or behind "Disc+Manual", have it go like this:

Full Package
"I only accept the full original package, with the case, cover art, manuals and all accessories"

Disc + Bonus Materials
"If Full Package is not available, I accept the original disc, plus either A. the original manual (no case or cover Art), B. the original case and covert art (no manual), or C. Other bonus accessories that came with the game.  In which case the seller will notify me of what they are sending as a Bonus Materials to the disc. I will then have the choice whether to accept or cancel the trade based on what bonus materials I deem acceptable."

Disc Only
"If neither the full package or bonus materials are available, I accept the original disc-only option"

Either that, or have an option in the buyers preferences to say which order they would like them to be in: "Disc+Case+Art" ahead or behind "Disc+Manual" and of course "disc only" will always be at the bottom and "full package" will always be at the top. Only give them the option to pick what order they would like them to be in.  As a default Goozex could use its own discretion and pick whichever one it wanted to go 2nd or 3rd.

I think either of those options would work and you can't say it's too complicated because us gamers are all pretty smart aren't we? (With the exception of me and possibly lurknomore!)

p.s. j/k lurk, that was for being sarcastic with me! lol

While I've seen your idea recommended before and generally agree that it's the most powerful for users getting exactly what they want, Goozex can not implement any idea that makes the system more complicated than this:

  1. Sign up for Goozex.
  2. List the games you have and what type of package they are.
  3. List the games you want and what type of package you'll accept as a minimum.
  4. Wait to be matched for trades.

It is just too complicated and quite frankly bad for business to go beyond those mandatory steps. Goozex has to appeal to the lowest factor, and that is someone who just wants to list and trade games, and get what they requested.
