Rayman 2: The Great Esacpe is perhaps the greatest platform game avaliable on the Dreamcast. The art style, characters, story, and gameplay are all infinitely superior to (for instance) any of the Sonic Adventure games. The game itself set new standards for production quality and polish.
The game was initially released on three systems: the Sony Playstation, the Nintendo 64, and the Sega Dreamcast. The game was later ported to the Sony Playstation 2 (as Rayman 2: Revolution) and the Nintendo DS (as Rayman DS). Of these, the Sega Dreamcast is the superior version: it runs at a higher resolution with more graphical features than the PSX, N64, or NDS versions, and the PS2 version has framerate problems that the DC version does not share.
