This was my first Mario game for the Wii. I had great expectations, but fell a little short from enjoying it. The game is fun, has a nice storyline and some innovative ideas like the 2D/3D passages.
However, the story is told through the game with messages that get annoying after a while, taking away from action and playability. Although the 2D/3D "trick" is fun at times and opens up unseen scenarios and passages, it also gets a little bit repetitive.
Maybe this game is a good one for kids, who can enjoy more the little secrets and develop reading skills through all the messages. For adults it's a little slow and repetitive.
I am still to finish the game. I will add more as I move through it.
I, too, thought that I would enjoy it more than I did. I think that I'm a little more than halfway through it, but I decided to let it go as I wasn't feeling motivated to finishing it, unlike other Paper Mario and Mario RPG games.... Let me know if it is worth going back to in order to finish the game off, as I don't know if I will ever go back to the game.

lol!! im also at about 75% of the game...but i just get sooooo bored playin it now...i dont think ill finish it, just wait for someone to request it from my library :P
Pfft. You're all wusses. I finished the game, and so can you! Besides, that dating-sim spoof was so amazingly awesome, it warrants completing the game.
