Hey, I wanna know what single player RPGs you enjoyed the most. I personally loved LOVED neverwinter nights.Fantastic game.
Just because it was my first RPG ever. Shining in the Darkness for the Sega Genesis. Wow, that brings back memories, i gave away the farm with my parents and sleepovers with friends just to get this game. So worth it, I think this is why I enjoyed dragonquest so much, although Dquest took maybe 30 yrs to complete.
Dungeon Lords. Definitely Dungeon Lords.

Another one would have to be, personally, Sacred. Its combat system was spot on and will for ever (saccreligiously) take the place of Diablo 2 in my house. It was just wicked and smooth and huge and.... ive said enough
I'd have to say Final Fantasy III. But Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is way up on the list, too.
Goozex Forum Moderator I'm Playing: WoW: WotLK
PC RPG: Diablo and Diablo II (although i learned RPGs on 'Shining in the Darkness' w/ NinjaJ)

A.K.A.: Fa-Q, NinjaGrunt, ChoochMJD, ChoochCP, GoozexMJD, Mirshka, Horabelas

Oblivion is still on my hard drive and occasionally gets called into action after well over a year. All the mods and Shivering Isles certainly keep breathing life into it.
Ultima Underworld still holds a place in my heart though as my introdcution to single player RPGs. It certainly gave my ol' 386 a workout.
Final Fantasy Tactics gets my vote. It's one of those games that really does have a story that I'll play several times. Plus, the content is freakin' amazing -- such great gameplay.
My favorite single player RPG was Icewind Dale. I liked Baldurs Gate and Baldurs Gate 2, but there was lot more action in Icewind Dale, and I liked the setting better. It seemed to move at a better pace.
Neverwinter Nights is a close second, with Fable being right up there, too.
I'm currently trying to get through Knights of the Old Republic. Its really good.

Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, NWN, and KOTOR are all fantastic. I also have Baldur's Gate 2 and Icewind Dale 2 but haven't opened them yet.
Planescape: Torment
OK, since nobody got my reference to Dungeon Lords ... I guess I'll have to be serious ... but I'll just knock out my top several ...
- Gothic 2
- Baldur's Gate 2
- Planescape: Torment
- Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic
- Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
- Wizardry 7
- Ultima IV
Whew! I thought you were serious about Dungeon Lords, txa....
There's got to be a few people out there that are rabid fans, and they might even be Goozex users, too. Actually, apparently there is one person who has requested it, but has it on hold.
<I just had to do another check to be sure it wasn't me...>

I can point to a few articles I've written about Dungeon Lords at some point. I thought it was OK, but even the most rabid folks I know at the official forums wouldn't really call it 'best ever'.
For me, regardless of anything else, it is one of the most shameful releases in all of gaming - the promise of a RPG legend comes down to a game that is delayed and delayed and is still woefully incomplete on release, and still not so great after patching - and to get the final patches involves paying $40 again for a collector's edition!?!
But the worst thing for me was playing the CE and realizing that this was as good as it would ever get - and that the very foundations of the game were just plain broken.
